Retake the top ranking
PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team's Fabio Quartararo returned to the top of the rankings with his third win of the season at the ninth round of the MotoGP series, the Catalunya GP, held on Sunday, September 27.
Quartararo didn't get off to the best of starts and dropped down a few positions in the first few corners. However, he quickly set the fastest time of the race and by lap six he had moved into second place and by lap nine he had taken the lead from Morbidelli. Once in front, he drove flawlessly to the finish line and never relinquished the lead. He never relinquished the lead and was able to take his third win of the season and regain the championship lead for his home Grand Prix.
