In this article, we have taken the liberty of picking out the "best" review for the period from June 18, 2022 to June 24, 2022, from the ever-increasing number of reviews every day!
Pick-up Review
It's expensive, but I figured I'd purchase it for security.
Usage
The beloved Moto Guzzi V7 is air-cooled, so the oil temperature rises easily, and the charging system is weak, so voltage should also be checked. Since it is mainly used for touring, I also need to check the clock. This meter can display oil temperature, voltage, and clock at the same time.
Image received
Yoshimura is indeed as good as its image.
It is solidly built.
Installation
The oil temperature sensor is simply replaced with the OEM drain bolt.
If you have the knowledge to obtain power, the rest is a matter of how smart you can be in wiring and mounting the unit.
For the negative, I extended the wiring to pass under the tank and directly connect to the battery because there was no good grounding point within the reach of the power cord of the main unit, and for the positive, I purchased a separate part that could get power from the fuse box because the supplied electro-tap was prone to contact failure.
Review after using it
In the case of the V7, there was just enough space on the top bridge for a clean installation.
Visibility may be slightly reduced during the day due to light reflection, but at night the blue-white backlight makes it clearly visible.
Included parts
Instructions, tie wraps, and other items necessary for installation are all included, but brackets are not included as it is on a case-by-case basis.
Naturally, a temperature sensor must be purchased separately for each model and purpose.
The Yoshimura sticker was a nice bonus.
Disappointment
I knew this before I bought it, but the wiring for the sensor and power supply is quite obvious. If you only monitor one type of temperature, you will not use one wire. Depending on where you install the unit, it may be a little bit embarrassing. I hope Yoshimura will come up with a smart product in the future that wirelessly transmits signals to and from the sensors.
As the weather gets hotter, water and oil temperatures are a concern. Water temperature often has a water temperature gauge, and an electric fan can force cooling to prevent overheating, but oil temperature is only probably okay. Of course, it is probably fine, but when you are stuck in a scorching hot traffic jam with an air-cooled engine, you may be asking yourself, "Is it really fine?" and this is not good for emotional health.
A highly accurate thermometer is recommended as a source of reassurance in such cases. Whether it is oil temperature or water temperature, it is really helpful to be able to be sure that everything is fine. The reviews I introduced here are good ones, with multiple images after installation and a description of how it feels to use it!
