1. Remove the 12 mm bolt and remove the grab bar.

2. Place the metal spacers provided and finish by fastening them with the bolts removed in step 1. It is that easy.

3. I am always most concerned about the degree of overhang, or rather, how much it sticks back enough to not squeeze the tandem seat when the box is attached. The carrier itself is shorter than the one for the old model, but the mounting position is a little further back, or maybe it is, and as a result, it comes to the top of the license plate, just like the old model, so it is fine.

4. The finished product looks like this.

However, I knew from various reviews that if I put this on, it would open up too much space between me and the seat. I've seen many people say they think the rain will get in. I know that's an exaggeration because that wasn't the case with the 2018 Gixxer. I was just taking a risk that it would open up a little bit.

It's too open!

5. But this is too open.
If it rains strongly when touring and it is tilted when you stop it unavoidably, rain might get in.
The cause is probably that the metal spacer that was also attached to the old model was put on as it was. They are too high.

These spacers are to prevent the rear cowl mounting from being damaged by the carrier, but the spacers are too thick. Maybe the height is just 5mm higher, but 1's original grab bar has a thicker wall shape and the gap may not have been noticeable when it was original.
I am sure it did.

But this is not very nice.
You need to either replace the spacer with a thin rubber or nylon spacer or cover the gap with something.
Or you can use something to cure around the screw holes on the rear cowl side and fasten it without the spacer, whichever.

I use the Daytona carrier on my DUKE, but it looks like it never opens up this far.
Replace them with thinner spacers!

Degree of overhang, from above.

It's okay because it's coming right up to the license plate.

The finished product looks like this.

This is too open.

It says it's too open, but I'm sure they're generally happy with the rating since it's at ★★★★★! That's good to know.
Thinking about it calmly, this amount of gap may be necessary to grab it by hand as a grab bar.
Conversely, if people don't need to grab it, maybe they can reduce the gap at their own risk.

It was a good review to see the huge carrier surface and the overhang at the rear of the motorcycle while imagining such things!
