■DOHC 4V+D head details
The intake ports have been polished to increase power output at high RPM. The M8 spark plug is used for the optimum valve pinching angle and the compactness of the combustion chamber. Titanium valve spring retainer can be selected by order system. Straight exhaust ports are used instead of the stock position. Hollow camshafts (auto decompression camshafts) The camshaft is supported by ball bearings at both ends to reduce frictional resistance in the camshaft journal.The camshaft drivetrain is a semi-gear train and the cam gears are adjustable.Valve timing can be changed.
auto decompression mechanism The new system reduces the force of the kick start and the load on the transmission when starting the engine, enabling smooth engine starting even with large displacement engines. Complete engine standard camshafts vary depending on displacement.
■Cylinder and crankshaft details
Ceramic Mexi Linder Adopts all-aluminum ceramic plated cylinder with excellent durability, airtightness and heat dissipation.
Stroke Up Crankshaft A special bearing with a larger inner diameter for the crankshaft journal bearing is used to accommodate high power engines. As a result, the shaft diameter of the journal section, where the stress on the crankshaft is concentrated, is 22mm, which improves strength and durability. In addition, the crankshaft is made of forged material and machined to increase durability. Crankcase press-fit bearings are used on the R side. This reduces friction loss and improves the durability and dynamic performance of the crankshaft.
Crankshaft support plate (with built-in 3-point bearing) This is a reinforcement part to increase the durability of the crankshaft.By installing ball bearings in the support plate mounted on the crankcase, the crankshaft journal is changed from a two-point support to a three-point support, which limits the crankshaft runout at high engine speeds. It is especially effective in the high rpm range of large displacement engines.
■Details of reinforced crankcase, clutch and transmission
SP Takegawa's original reinforced crankcase designed exclusively for Monkey (FI) SP Takegawa's original reinforced crankcase is a high quality crankcase that is specially designed in every detail to increase the rigidity of the crankcase to cope with the load on the crankcase caused by the larger engine displacement.The oil pump is a crankshaft direct drive oil pump. Compared with the chain drive type reinforced oil pump, the discharge volume is about twice as large. The breather pipe has an inner diameter of 6mm to reduce the internal pressure of the crankcase of a large displacement engine. The main body of the crankcase is equipped with an oil jet mechanism that constantly sprays oil directly onto the small end of the connecting rod and piston for lubrication and cooling. The transmission bearing is equipped with a special bearing hold plate for big torque.
Adopted primary kick starter system The primary type kick starter allows the engine to be started by disengaging the clutch in any gear, and is recommended for racing use where a quick engine start is required when restarting.In the case of a primary kick, the engine can be started without direct stress on the transmission.
Reinforced Clutch The reinforced clutch uses 5 discs to eliminate clutch slippage that occurs in high power engines. The clutch cover of the wet special clutch (primary type) is made of magnesium die-cast.The surface is painted brown. The clutch cover is a patented clutch cover that allows for the installation of a thermostat.Overcooling can be prevented by installing a thermostat unit (sold separately). Furthermore, an oil outlet is provided to allow oil to be taken out to the oil cooler. Wet special clutch (primary type) is equipped with a slipper clutch as standard. Standard clutch can be changed by the order system.
The slipper clutch slips during sudden engine braking due to downshifting at high RPM to relieve excessive back-torque.
Cross Transmission: Choice of TAF 5-speed cross transmission. The TAF 5-speed cross-transmission combines high durability with excellent operation, and is available in two gear ratios: S Touring and Super Street. Complete standard equipment is S Touring 5 speed. The Super Street 5-speed cross transmission can be specified through the order system.

Special manifold / Big throttle body / Large capacity injectors A big throttle body, a special manifold and a large capacity injector are equipped in order to cope with the intake air volume which is much larger than stock by adopting a large displacement and a high performance cylinder head.By combining with SP Takegawa exhaust, you can get the best performance from the engine.
Includes FI CON PLUS for Monkey (FI) complete engine. SP Takegawa has developed a special injection controller "FI CON PLUS" for the DOHC 4V+R complete engine for the Monkey (FI). The high performance cylinder head and the large displacement allow you to get the most out of the engine specs.FI CON PLUS has an internal 3D fuel map and performs high-speed calculations based on signals from various sensors to optimize fuel injection according to engine conditions.In addition to the fuel injection circuit, the ignition system circuit is also built in, and the ignition timing is also optimized to suit the complete engine.These allow the ECU to be used up to higher RPM than the rev limit of the stock ECU. The basic map is set by the difference of the camshaft and the exhaust.Fuel correction from the basic map and rpm setting of the limiter can be easily set by simply turning the rotary switch on the FI CON PLUS with a screwdriver.
