We have developed a brake arm that can offset the pedal part to the outside, which can be installed on Softail Milwaukee Eight model mid control bikes (2018y- Softail (FXBB / FXBBS 114 / FXLR / FXLRS / FXST). The pedal surface is about 20mm higher than the stock brake pedal and offset about 30mm to the outside. Shift and brake pegs for customization of the pedal portion as well (thread size: 5/16-24) can be installed.
[What kind of bike is Harley-Davidson?I didn't know that... Harley Davidson Trivia Corner] Isn't it hard to input brake input on a Harley? That's right! The brake pedal is smaller than that of Japanese bikes, and the position of the brake pedal in relation to the step is so far to the side of the engine that it is difficult to step on the brake pedal!(This is just a general idea of the step and pedal position in the American continental riding style, but in V-twin races such as King of Baggers, the step position, riding position, and other parts of the state-of-the-art SS bikes have been modified to win the race.) We hear this question and complaint a lot. The reason is simple!Because the US is all straight roads and you don't have to shift gears or brake and slow down often! You can park your bike in a large parking lot without being rushed from behind! In Japan, we are too blessed to have track-level asphalt-paved cornering all over the mountains, but in the United States, mountain passes are often neglected by state budgets, and it is often a game over for those who enjoy cornering and plow into the sunken asphalt.(Too many straight lines and monotonous scenery can lull you to sleep and cause you to fall asleep at the wheel...) In fact, it is said that 50% of all traffic accidents in the U.S. are caused by falling asleep at the wheel.) So, as you can see if you buy a stock Harley and ride it on the street, the stock brake pedal is small and hard to step on, and its position is not on the same line with the foot pedal but on the side of the bike body, so you have to check your feet while riding. The stock brake pedal is small and difficult to press, and its position is not on the same line as the foot pedal, but on the side of the bike body. Kijima has been studying the development of a rubber shift pedal with good bite for dirt bikes, a rubber skin to cover the stock brake pedal that tends to slip on rainy days, and a side stand that is easier to get out, and so on. Kijima has developed a black offset brake arm that allows the brake pedal to be pulled out over the step extension for easier riding!
