LTO Start Implementations of the Provisions of Republic Act (RA) 10930 on the Renewal of 10-year Driver’s License

Motorcycle & Industry

The LTO will begin the implementation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 10930 on driver's license renewal on October 28, 2021 at the Central Office - Licensing Section and the Quezon City Licensing Center (QCLC). This will be followed by implementation in other offices in the National Capital Region on November 3, 2021.

In accordance with RA 10930, which mandates the extension of the validity period of a driver's license, those with no traffic violation record can now renew their driver's license for 10 years. Applicants with a record of traffic violations, on the other hand, will remain on a 5-year driver's license.

All renewals must undergo Comprehensive Driver Education (CDE) in order to receive a CDE certificate. CDE materials are available at the LTO portal (portal.lto.gov.ph), LTO offices, and LTO-accredited driving schools. CDE is distributed free of charge at LTO Driver's Education Centers and the LTO portal.

Therefore, all LTO clients are encouraged to register and participate in the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) on the LTO portal. All non-NCR clients should keep an eye out for the next LTO announcement.
