YAMAHA Motorcycle Day, an event for owners and fans of Yamaha vehicles, was held at Fujiten Resort in Yamanashi Prefecture on October 22, 2022. I would like to introduce a cool custom YZF-R7 that was displayed there.
It looks like a YZF-R1 racer, but it's actually a fine-tuned machine.
The YZF-R7 displayed at Yamaha Motorcycle Day 2022, the first event held in three years, was a concept vehicle named YAMAHA MOTOR LAB for R7. It was created by members of Yamaha's in-house team and has the aura of a YZF-R1 all-Japan works racer.
However, many of the installed parts are commercially available, and the key point is that they are limited to fine-tuning that can be reproduced and run on public roads. The Akrapovic full exhaust muffler YZF-R7 (approx. 1615 USD) and other parts sold by Y's Gear are used to enhance the racer's level.
On the other hand, the front forks, which look like Ohlins, have only the cartridge inside made by Ohlins, and the gold outer shells are in the color commemorating the 60th anniversary of the company's entry in the WGP. The exterior is painted all over, including the logo, and the high level of presentation that only in-house customization can provide is a joy to behold.

YAMAHA MOTOR LAB for R7 on display on October 22. The all-normal cowl exterior was painted to look like a racer's, with quick fasteners on the under-cowl attachment points.

Attached to the clutch cover portion is the GB Racing crankcase protector (approx. 225 USD). Active's step bar (approx. 70 USD) alone gives the motorcycle a racy look.

Even a change to Ohlins inner cartridge fork tops gives the cockpit a much racier look. Active's QSTARZ GPS data logger also plays a role in the presentation.

The brake fluid is blue, as is typical of Yamaha vehicles. The handlebars are made by GYTR, and the levers are Gale Speed adjustable brake levers in black (approx. 135 USD). Other components such as the Hi-Slo EVO2 give the bike a racy look.

The rear shock is converted to Ohlins S46HR1C1S for YZF-R7. The carbon rear fender is believed to be made by Saiya. A Mitsuba Sankowa driver's license plate recorder is mounted on the license plate area.

The brake fluid is blue in the rear as well. The reservoir tank is also made transparent for a custom look.
Yamalube colors exhibited at the Motorcycle Show were commercialized
Yamaha exhibited a YZF-R7 painted in Yamalube colors at the March 2022 motorcycle show, and a cowl kit is now available from Y's Gear for (approx.) 1500 USD. This special exterior set is based on the coloring that was supposed to be used by the YART Yamaha Official EWC Team in the canceled 2020 Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race.
The color was later used in an actual competition at the Suzuka 8 Hours in August 2022, making it a true 8 Hours replica.
The gradation from black to blue and the decals give it a racy look.

The YZF-R7 can be transformed into an R1 racer by simply installing a kit that includes a tank cover, cowl, and fenders.
