Numerous Models Reveled than Expected at EICMA
The number of new models revealed at INTERMOT last month were more than expected so expectations weren't high for EICMA, however it seems that we were wrong. We're more like having the first new model rush in the past several years.
It actually took me more than twice the time I spent at INTERMOT to photograph and gather information on the new models. Manufactures that revealed new models at INTERMOT went straight off the reel to present further new models.
Abundant Models Including Modified Models
However non of the sports models are mounted with newly designed engine. Except for KTM which presented 790 Duke with parallel twin engine, which was exhibited for reference.

The new models are mainly derived and have certain things in common. They are all middle class basic sports models that already exist and customized to retro style café racers, scramblers or city adventurers.
New models with café racer style are BMW R nineT Racer and TRIUMPH Street Cup (these 2 models were revealed at INTERMOT) The rest are DUCATI Scrambler Café Racer, Husqvarna Vitpilen401, YAMAHA XSR900-Abarth. CB1100RS that was revealed at INTERMOT also can be classified in this category.

This Year's Trend; Scrambler & City Adventure Models
The new Scrambler models are R nineT Scrambler that was formally released from BMW and SCR950 that was released from YAMAHA at the INTERMOT. At EICMA BMW additionally revealed R nineT Urban GS and Street Scrambler was revealed from TRIUMPH.

Reasonable City Adventure models with small engine capacity were revealed abundantly at EICMA. V-Strom 250 from SUZUKI, Versys-X 300 from KAWASAKI and G310GS from BMW. CRF250 RALLY from HONDA is also related to this category.

Extensive Line Up of Familiar and Easy to Use Models
This proves that riders require motorcycles that are easy to use on a day to day basis. The new Scrambler models were finished with further classical taste.
On the other hand "Ultimate High Performance" was presented at the show as well.
DUCATI presented Superleggera and BMW presented HP4 Racer (prototype); extremely light machines mounted with carbon frame.
The two models are no doubt out of reach but were attracting great attention of the visitors at EICMA.
