Good news for CRF250L owners!
Recently, Honda announced the CRF300L/RALLY. Some CRF250L/RALLY owners may be thinking, "If only they had announced it a bit earlier...". Well, we have good news for you. SP Takegawa in Japan has just released a new bore up kit for the CRF250L/RALLY. The displacement is 305cc.

The displacement of the CRF300L/RALLY is 286cc to be exact and the power is announced as 20.1 kW. In horsepower terms, that's 27 bhp. So the maximum power measured at SP Takegawa is about 22hp with the stock engine. This calculation error is probably due to the difference between the measurement on the engine (27hp) and the measurement on the rear tyre.
However, the maximum output of the bore up engine is about 28hp? With such a difference, it clearly feels like a different motorcycle.
Let's be honest, the price of a bore up kit is not cheap. But it's cheaper than buying a new CRF300L/Rally.

Bore Up Kit 305cc Product Details
Adopted Forged Piston
The Hyper Bore Up Kit is a 305cc bore up kit with a sports camshaft to get the best out of the stock cylinder head, and a FI-CON 2 (injection controller) to eliminate fuel misalignment and maximise the performance of the bore up and sports camshaft. This kit is not only a set of parts, but also very affordable.
This bore up kit allows you to increase the displacement to 305cc by changing the cylinder and piston. The cylinder is made from an all aluminium ceramic plated cylinder for durability, air tightness and heat dissipation. The cylinders are made from a closed deck design instead of the open deck design of the standard cylinders to increase the rigidity of the cylinders. The cylinder water jacket has been increased in capacity to protect the engine from overheating. The cylinder oil lines are equipped with oil jets which spray oil directly into the cylinder to cool and lubricate the piston. The cylinder body is equipped with a service hole for the installation of a temperature sensor for the water and oil temperature gauges.

Forged Pistons: Specially forged pistons used in racing engines are used to reduce weight while maintaining strength.

FI-CON 2 (injection controller)
This is our original injection controller, which allows you to change the settings easily by switching the rotary switch on the main unit, without the need for complicated data input by PC. The controller contains a range of 3D correction maps which can be set up to suit your vehicle. The built-in correction maps can also be increased or decreased with the rotary switch on the controller. Rev limiter cut function. Rev limit speed with bore up kit: 11000rpm
The FI-CON 2 comes with its own harness COMP. and can be installed with minimal wiring work.
Precautions
- Not for use on public roads due to displacement of 250cc or more. This is for closed course use only.
- It is possible to exceed the rev limit of the stock ECU, but please use it at your own risk as it will exceed the manufacturer's stock rev limit.
- The FI-CON 2 has only been tested on models officially sold as Japanese specification.
- Please do not install external H.I.D. kits at the same time, as they produce high voltage noise which can adversely affect the digital circuitry. It becomes the cause of the breakdown and the operation failure.
- Please do not install the ignition system of the outside article at the same time because it becomes the cause of the malfunction and the product failure by the increase of the radiation noise that accompanies the ignition voltage increase.
