Under the LTO Memorandum Circular 2019-2176, individuals are required to undergo 15 hours of TDC (Theoretical Driving Course) before you can obtain a student driving permit.
The Malasakit Driver Education Center of the Land Transport Authority of Central Visayas offers free Theoretical Driving Courses to applicants for student permits. The bureau's scholarship program, launched last October, has produced 2,547 graduates so far as of end of May 2021.
As of July 31, LTO Central Visayas has served a total of 4,181 scholarships since it started in October 2020.
According to Victor Emmanuel Caindec, regional director of LTO-7, LTO-7's Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) has provided a total of more than PHP7 million in scholarship value since it was launched last October.
