Suzuki has announced the new GSX-S1000GT, an all-new concept sports tourer based on the fully-redesigned GSX-S1000F full-cowl street motorcycle, which will go on sale worldwide in October.
The new GSX-S1000GT is a sports tourer with enhanced touring performance that inherits the DNA of the supersport motorcycle. The electronic control system S.I.R.S.and Suzuki's first full-color TFT liquid crystal display (LCD) meter with smartphone-linked functions, the new model is easy to handle in everyday use and offers comfort and high-speed stability for long-distance touring. The new model's styling is based on sharp, spontaneous lines that convey a sense of nimble sports performance while maintaining the imposing appearance of a tourer.
The powerful liquid-cooled 999 cm3 inline four-cylinder engine has plenty of power at all revs, and delivers uplifting acceleration performance with smooth torque characteristics that are easy to use even at low speeds. Mounted on a lightweight, rigid frame, the engine is easy to use in everyday situations and offers excellent handling stability on winding roads and highways. The new model also complies with Euro 5 emissions regulations (European specification model) and achieves higher maximum power output.
To reduce fatigue during long-distance touring, floating handlebars, rubberized footrests and special grab bars have been adopted to reduce vibration from the motorcycle transmitted to the rider and tandem rider. In addition, the handlebar has been widened and the handlebar position moved closer to the rider for a more upright riding position suitable for touring. The aerodynamic screen and specially designed seat also improve rider comfort.
In addition, a wide range of genuine accessories, including products developed exclusively for the new GSX-S1000GT, are available to enhance comfort and convenience and allow the rider to customize the motorcycle.

Electronic control system S.I.R.S.(Suzuki Intelligent Ride System)
Features include the SDMS (Suzuki Drive Mode Selector), which allows the user to select output characteristics from three modes, a traction control system with a wider selection range and five levels of control, and a bi-directional quick shift system that allows the user to shift up or down without operating the clutch lever. It also has a two-way quick shift system that allows the driver to shift up and down without operating the clutch lever.
A new cruise control system, which maintains the set speed without the need to operate the throttle, has been adopted to improve comfort on expressways and other roads.
Meter
The 6.5-inch large-screen full-color TFT LCD meter is a first for Suzuki. It is equipped with a function that allows the display to be switched between day mode (white) and night mode (black) to maximize visibility regardless of time or driving conditions. The system can be connected to a smartphone with the dedicated "SUZUKI mySPIN" application installed to display maps, play music*1, and make and receive phone calls*1. The smartphone is compatible with both iOS*2 and Android*3.
Design
Sharp, sprawling lines express nimble sports performance and aerodynamics with bold body lines. At the same time, the design incorporates refinements that visually express the intelligence of the new GSX-S1000GT, including electronic controls and smartphone connectivity.
The shape of the tandem seat and the thickness of the cushion reduces vibrations transmitted to the tandem rider, and the grab bar and tandem step are also designed to provide comfort for the tandem rider.

These include a touring screen that further enhances windproof performance, a set of high-capacity side cases that can hold a full-face helmet*4, and grip heaters to improve comfort and convenience while touring.
