Kawasaki Sneak Peek of the Z50th Celebration Coming in 2022!

Kawasaki Japan published a sneak peek video of the Kawasaki Z1 highlighting the "900 DOUBLE OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT" emblem marked on its side cover.

As 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of Z, Kawasaki would like to introduce the history of Z. Let's take a quick look of the Z1 history below.

Kawasaki Z1 History

The Z1, which commenced production in 1972, was the most powerful 4-cylinder, 4-stroke model ever launched in Japan.

  • 1972 KAWASAKI Z1 (900 Super Four)
    This model was developed to aim the world's top standard in every aspects, like handling, durability or maintenance. Its elegant design was based on its concept "3S (slim, sleek and sexy), and its performance thrilled the fans all over the world.

  • 1974 KAWASAKI Z1 (900 Super Four)
    Its graphic had been changed from fire balls to thick lines. The engine had become aluminum base, and a split-type head gasket had been adopted to prevent oil leakage.

  • 1975 KAWASAKI Z1 (900 Super Four)
    It had emerged as the successor of Z1A which had changed its color in 1973, and its carburetor in 1974. The tail line has been raised to emphasize its emblem "900".
