New middle revives the name of the cross-alpine tourer
The adventure tourer has been popular in recent years, and with Yamaha's launch of the Tenere 700, there's been a lot of interest in the middle class. And in 2022, Honda is likely to add a new one to its lineup.
The name is XL750L Transalp. The XL600V Transalp was first released in 1987, but it is said that the new model to be released in Europe will also retain the "XL" name.
The information is that the engine is a newly developed parallel two-cylinder, but even though it's the same two-cylinder 750cc, it's likely to be a parallel twin with a raised cylinder layout, different from the forward-leaning unit of the NC750 series. The displacement is likely to be 755cc and the motorcycle will feature 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels.
The Transalp was the predecessor to the original Africa Twin, and can be considered the cornerstone of Honda adventure touring. The 750L, which inherits its name, is expected to achieve a high level of perfection.
Projected CG of the XL750L Transalp. According to European information, the new Transalp will share wheels with the Africa Twin, possibly 21-inch front and 18-inch rear. If this is true, we can expect good off-road performance.
In Japan, the 600 was released in 1987, followed by the Transalp 400V in 1991. The photo shows the last model in 1994. The engine was V type 2 cylinder.
Unlike the on-road NC750X (pictured), the XL750L Transalp is an adventure motorcycle that can be ridden on and off the road. It may be the same 750, but it has a different flavor.
