Italian brand BIMOTA has announced that at EICMA 2021 Milan Motor Show, a new model "KB4" with KAWASAKI Ninja 1000SX's EURO 5 compliant parallel four-cylinder engine and neo-classical Café Racer style will be unveiled.
A new model cooperating with KAWASAKI after the succession to TESI H2
At the EICMA Milan Motor Show in 2019, the Italian brand BIMOTA announced the rebirth of its cooperation with KAWASAKI, and launched the TESI H2 equipped with a hub steering mechanism for the first time in the world. At the same time, it also unveiled the full rectification of the Ninja 1000SX parallel four-cylinder engine. According to the computer CG simulation of the sports motorcycle KB4, then BIMOTA will report on the development progress of KB4 on social media from time to time.
BIMOTA announced its resurrection at EICMA in 2019 and launched the first TESI H2 to come back to the motorcycle world. At the same time, it also released the computer CG simulation of KB4.
After completing the brake test and general road test this year (2021) and showcasing the prototype motorcycle with pure black paint, BIMOTA finally announced that it will release KB4 at the EICMA 2021 Milan Motor Show. The development concept of KB4 is "Vintage Inspired", and it also announced the name of the derivative motorcycle of the track version (sports version?) KB4RC (Race Cafe).
Before the official announcement, BIMOTA released the specifications and pictures of KB4 in advance. The engine should be the same parallel four-cylinder engine (including exhaust system) as the Ninja 1000SX, but the overall weight of the motorcycle is only 194kg (dry weight 189kg), which is a significant reduction of 42kg compared to the Ninja 1000SX!
By the way, this time BIMOTA also published a picture. When I try to brighten the picture, I can see more body equipment. First of all, the frame is a mixture of steel pipe and aluminum pivot plate structure. The rear rocker arm may follow the Ninja 1000SX, using an inverted front fork, a BREMBO radial caliper and a direct-push master cylinder.
The appearance is unsurprisingly in the neo-classical Café Racer style, and it seems to use the same cooling water tank under the seat cushion as the Tornado 900 TRE. The structure was developed and designed by Pierluigi Marconi, who was the former development director of Benelli. This part needs to wait for the actual vehicle to be announced. To be sure.
BIMOTA said that KB4 will be available on November 23rd, Italy local time on 13th:20 (Taiwan Time 20:20) Formally published.
