Honda Releases “CBR400R” and “400X” with Partially Changed Specifications: Front Fork and Double Disc

Motorcycle & Industry

Honda announced today that it will launch the CBR400R, a road sport model equipped with a lightweight and compact liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, in-line 2-cylinder, 399cc engine, and the 400X, a crossover model, with partially revised specifications on January 17, 2022 (Monday).

Both models now feature SHOWA's (Hitachi Astemo Co., Ltd.) SFF-BP (Separate Function Front Fork Big Piston), which provides excellent road-following performance and a high-quality ride. The front brake is a double disc for added braking security. In addition, the front and rear load sharing has been optimized by optimizing the rigidity of the swingarm and reducing the weight of the front wheel, which contributes to the front wheel's ground contact feel and turning performance.

The CBR400R adopts radial mount caliper for front brake. In addition, the wheel design was redesigned to reduce the unsprung weight. This contributes to nimble handling.
Three body colors are available: the powerful and passionate Grand Prix Red, the fearless and high-quality Matte Ballistic Black Metallic, and the modern and relaxed Matte Jeans Blue Metallic.

The 400X has optimized light distribution by increasing the light intensity of the headlights and changing the light emission pattern, contributing to visibility and coverage. In addition, the position lamp function has been adopted for the indicator lights to contribute to visibility. Two body colors are available: Pearl Glare White for a fresh, glossy look and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic for a solid crossover look.

Manufacturer: Honda Motor Co.
1 The fuel consumption rate is a value under the specified test conditions. They vary depending on various conditions such as the customer's operating environment (weather, traffic congestion, etc.), driving method, vehicle condition (equipment and specifications), and maintenance status.
2 Local fuel consumption values are fuel consumption rates based on actual measurements at constant vehicle speed.
3 The WMTC mode value is a calculated value based on the results of emission tests conducted in the international standard driving mode, which includes starting, accelerating and stopping. Driving mode classes are classified according to displacement and maximum speed.
