KTM 2022 “390 Adventure” | Electrical Upgrades, Dual-sport, and More!

Motorcycle & Industry

Following the debut of the new generation RC390, KTM has revamped its 390 lineup, and this time it's the 390 Adventure, which hits the market at the beginning of 2019 in the Yellow Label class adventure style.

The appearance remains the same, and the internal upgrade

The new 390 Adventure is the latest masterpiece of KTM's Adventure Division, and is currently the smallest displacement adventure motorcycle in the brand. The 390 DUKE is based on a lightweight and compact 373cc water-cooled DOHC 4-valve single-cylinder engine with a woven steel frame, making it a popular street motorcycle.

The 2022 model year is the first revision of the 390 Adventure, with the same steel weave frame, WP APEX 43mm inverted fork, WP APEX mid-mounted single-shock, 320mm single disc + BYBRE opposing four-piston caliper at the front and 230mm single disc + BYBRE single-piston caliper at the rear. The braking system is composed of 320 mm single disc + BYBRE four-piston caliper at the front and 230 mm single disc + BYBRE two-piston caliper at the rear.

The only significant change in appearance is the 19" front and 17" rear wheels, which are the same size as the current model, but with 5 and 10 ribs instead of the original 6 and 12 ribs, and a different manufacturing process to reduce weight and improve handling and durability.

The engine of the 2022 390 Adventure is also a 373cc water-cooled four-stroke DOHC 4-cylinder single-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 43.5ps/9,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 37Nm/7,000rpm, both of which remain unchanged from the current model, but can pass the latest EURO 5 environmental standards.

The biggest changes to the new 390 Adventure are the BOSCH 9.1 dual-channel ABS brakes, MTC traction control, and a full LCD meter that can be linked to a smartphone, as well as the addition of "STREET" and "OFFROAD" riding modes. This allows riders to freely choose the level of traction control system intervention, while at the same time optimizing safety on paved roads and the fun experience when riding off-road.

The 2022 390 Adventure is unchanged in appearance, but features the same new body paint as the KTM FACTORY RALLY that won the Dakar Rally. There are two colors for future owners to choose from: the relatively high-profile blue/orange color scheme and the traditional black/gray color scheme.

The 390 Adventure encourages every rider to explore new frontiers with unparalleled capability and excitement by combining all-road versatility, proven reliability and the ability to explore the world with a powerful, lightweight chassis and top-of-the-line electronics.
