Its engine comes from the Daytona 675's water-cooled parallel 3-cylinder DOHC 4-valve engine. Because it was originally an engine dedicated to super sports motorcycles, "itself" has high performance. Unlike the T-plane crankshaft that is used in the new Tiger 900 that emphasizes off-road performance at different intervals, it features a very smooth and easy rev, and also has a penetrating and bright exhaust sound.
Nevertheless, this motorcycle is more inclined to a low-to-mid-speed design than the Trident 660, and the torque generated at the beginning of the start is more abundant. In the field of full speed, it can almost show a smooth torque output, which is also the characteristic of the three-cylinder engine.
Although the maximum horsepower of 81ps is not an amazing number, for now, it is already the strongest at this level where the twin-cylinder engine is the mainstream. In addition, its equipment weighs only 207kg, which is very light, so it can flexibly shuttle through it when riding on the street. This should be an impossible task for a large adventure motorcycle or a large station wagon.
Judging from the numbers, I used to be a little concerned about the issue when I tried the Trident - the slight horsepower surge when the accelerator was kept open has long been dealt with, and the response of the motorcycle body back to the right hand has also become direct and much smoother. The engine performance curve also appears to have been revised, so the performance should be better.
Exclusive specifications for highly balanced performance
In addition, according to the data, the wheelbase of this motorcycle is also 18mm longer than that of the Trident 660, but the rake angle is smaller by 1.5 degrees. This means that it hopes to enhance the slewing performance while improving the stability when going straight. In fact, the straight-back riding posture design that keeps the upper body straight also allows the rider to easily move the center of gravity. The long handle also provides space for installing various brackets. Even if you are not careful when riding, you can still easily loosely shuttle between the alleys.
Compared with the Trident 660, the body of this motorcycle is slightly larger, but it also improves its comfort and off-road performance as a sports utility station wagon, and does not damage the original mid-displacement model. Maneuverability and a light ride, the Triumph manages to strike a balance here.
By the way, the height of the seat cushion of this motorcycle is 835mm, although it is a bit too high, but because the front of the seat cushion is designed to be narrow and long, its feet on the ground are actually better than it looks on the outside. For tall people, it should be just right to sit back a little.
