Suzuki Releases V-Strom 650 Series Compliant with 2020 Emission Regulations in Japan; New Colors Available

Motorcycle & Industry

Suzuki Motorcycle Co., Ltd. will release the V-Strom 650, a sports adventure tourer, compliant with the new 2020 emission regulations in Japan. Two models are available: the cast-wheel V-Strom 650 ABS and the spoke-wheel V-Strom 650XT ABS. There are no major design changes, but new colors have been added, and the motorcycle's status as a middle-class adventure tourer remains unchanged.

Both models have its design roots in the "DR-BIG" launched in 1988, but feature modern vertically arranged two-light headlights. The engine is a 645cc V-twin cylinder, outputting 51kW (69.3ps)/8,800rpm. Fuel consumption is a high of 34.0 km/L. A large variable screen typical of a tourer, a large-capacity 20-liter fuel tank, and two-stage traction control make this a highly convenient tourer.

The V-Strom 650 ABS will be released on April 27 for 957,000 yen, tax included (Approx. PHP 420,429.00). The V-Strom 650XT ABS will be released on March 28 for 1,001,000 yen, tax included (Approx. PHP 439,754.00).
