Looks Big, But has Deep Pockets! Tiger 1200, a Gentle Beast Perfect for Long Tours!

Motorcycle & Industry

From among MY BIKES posted in the Webike community, here is "meister's" current motorcycle, a Tiger 1200.

I think everyone's first impression of an "adventure motorcycle" is "it's huge ......". Once you get on it, you'll see that the seat is lowered because the suspension sinks! Or surprisingly, it's not so bad to handle! For riders who are not confident about the length of their lower back, it is hard to shake off the intimidation of such words.

However, the most important thing for long tours is not to get tired. The latest adventure motorcycles designed specifically for touring not only take care of handling and control but also provide a "fatigue-free" and relaxing ride. You can't plunge off-road while carrying a huge amount of huge pannier cases if you don't feel secure.

The Triumph Tiger series has a long history as an adventure series, but it has continued to improve its user-friendly features and performance as it gets newer and newer. The Tiger 1200 XCA introduced here, starting with the 2020 model year, delivers a massive 141 PS of horsepower and uses magnesium engine parts to reduce weight.

Electronic control allows the rider to choose from six different riding modes, making it easy to turn on and off. It also features a semi-active suspension that automatically adjusts suspension damping, traction control, and a shift assist function that allows shifting without using the clutch as standard equipment.

Of course, it's certainly a hurdle for a complete beginner to start riding quickly, but once you get started, you'll be satisfied with the sense of ownership!

This is what we hear from our users who are giving their reviews!

If you have a yearning for an adventure model but are worried about the various aspects of it, you are sure to have a great touring experience with the assistance of techniques and the latest features!

The Tiger 1200 XCA features Triumph's signature three-cylinder engine. This model combines the high power of an on-road motorcycle with the durability of an adventure motorcycle!

This is totsuke's Tiger 1200 XCA. While prepared for "the last luxury motorcycle of my life," I was very pleased with the usability and rarity of this impression. However, there is a drawback in its weight of 380kg.

This is Kimi's Tiger Explorer. Despite having the largest displacement in the series, it is tough enough to ride on gravel roads with a full pannier case. Tiger looks great in the farthest landscapes!

MY BIKE COMMENT
Motive for purchase
Ride long distances comfortably and as you wish on your journey.
I chose it because I wanted to ride a motorcycle with such big nostalgia!
Advantages
Stability when driving at high speeds, moderate vibration, engine noise, and exhaust note.
In addition to the stock triple panniers, a guard back can be installed on top of the panniers and an engine guard on the front, so there are no complaints.
The only time I would ask for more loading is if you need a vehicle.
Disadvantage
No evolution in terms of low-speed torque or fuel economy over earlier models
Early models had good low-speed torque and could be started by simply engaging the clutch.
Advice for prospective buyers
The motorcycle is heavy, this is no longer an option...
If weight is a problem for you, I think you should choose the new Tiger. It was dry, but it seemed very light.
