New LEAD 125 Performance forecast from the base model

I will introduce "Owner Review Summary", a collection of reviews based on the voices of owners who have actually ridden various motorcycles from the Webike Community's My Bike.  In this issue, I would like to share with you the performance predictions about the 2022 LEAD 125 from the real voice of the owner!

What kind of performance does LEAD 125 offer?

On March 24, it was announced that the Lead 125 moped motorcycle will be getting a model change. This improvement is more than just a change in color; it adds equipment that improves day-to-day usability and increases its attractiveness. We would like to explore the appeal of the new LEAD 125 with reference to the feedback from users of the current model.

The Lead 125 is the most people-friendly of Honda's moped scooters. It has a flat board, front pocket, and large capacity under-seat luggage, which is useful for shopping. The tires are small-diameter types, making it easy to turn around and maneuver.

The new model will firstly adopt a new smart key. This is very convenient because the key can be left in the bag to unlock the car and start the engine. In addition, the USB socket for charging smartphones and other devices has been converted to a Type-C type, which can supply up to 3A of current, shortening the time required to charge electronic devices. This will be useful for smartphone users who consume a surprisingly large amount of electricity.

Let's take a look at what Webike users have to say about the existing LEAD 125. First of all, the large capacity under the seat is a standout feature, with a capacity of 37 liters, which will be retained in the new model. Users also say that it is lightweight and runs well in small turns.

Let's take a look at what webike users have to say about the existing READ 125. First of all, the large capacity under the seat is a standout feature, with a capacity of 37 liters, which will be retained in the new model. Users also say that it is lightweight and runs well in small turns. Incidentally, it uses the same engine as the PCX, and its speed and environmental performance are second to none. Fuel economy is said by some reviewers to be around 46 km/L. What is more, there are many custom parts that can be shared with the PCX, so you can enjoy tinkering with it even after purchasing it.

The feedback from Webike users is noticeably positive. The LEAD 125 maybe a bike to consider if you are thinking of buying a moped for your daily life. And you may end up riding this one around because it is so convenient.

Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models

Riding on the street!
Pros/SatisfactionsIt's lightweight, turns well, and runs briskly!
Since it is a motorized 2-wheel drive, insurance and taxes are low, and it has good fuel efficiency, so maintenance costs are low.
A rear carrier is standard equipment, so a top case can be quickly attached. When the top case is attached, together with the huge space under the seat, the load capacity is amazing.
The lights are LED and bright.
Power socket is standard.
Nice yellow.
The positional relationship between the horn and indicator switch, which is often complained about in word-of-mouth, is also no problem, as the indicator switch is located at the natural thumb extension position (no mis-presses yet)
Cons/DissatisfactionsThe suspension may be cheap. It jumps over bumps. Especially the front. It might be better to ride with rear load.
Brakes are not working properly. No sign of locking. The front brakes are discs.
I blew gasoline on my first refueling. I followed the instructions to the letter!
I can't fit my full face or my jet helm in the met-in, maybe because it's an XL size.
The horn is difficult to push as opposed to the blinker.
Cannot go through motorways as it is a Hara 2 (100km with room to spare)/(even though it comes out H).
Advice for prospective buyersThis could be the best foot bike ever!
It could use a little more torque, but it's still as good as a car going off the line (except for high power motorcycles), it's not scary to accelerate roughly, and it can carry a lot of luggage!

Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative modelsAnyway, I was looking for a scooter that could carry luggage.
I was surprised to see that the flowers from the cemetery fit perfectly.

The comparison model is the Yamaha Cygnus.

Commuting, shopping, petit touring

Pros/SatisfactionsAcceleration is good, although I seldom operate the gas pedal abruptly.
I have a small space to park my bike, but even though it's water-cooled, it's lighter than my old JF04 Spacey!
Cons/DissatisfactionsAlmost none, but if I had to say, the style is seen from right beside.
The design line that looks like a pigeon breast The design that looks like a pigeon breast is a little disappointing in my opinion.
Advice for prospective buyersThese days the 125 class is almost never produced domestically.
My Lead had an initial failure of the coolant pump, which was leaking coolant in minute amounts. Of course it was replaced free of charge and it has been a year since I purchased it, but that is the only problem I have had with it.

I commute about 4 km one way to work and the fuel consumption is 40 km/L.
If you drive a little, it will be 46km/L. If you go petit touring, it will be over 50km/L.

I had a one-year point detection last time and I would like to have it well maintained and run for a long time!

Macchan

Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative modelsHe is now back at home, but he was my partner in a single job.
I purchased it at a discount.
They are useful for shopping, touring, and other all-around activities.
I'll be customizing it gradually from here on out!
Pros/SatisfactionsI am very satisfied with the fuel efficiency and the space under the seats.
This is my first moped II scooter and it has more power than I expected.
It is stable and enjoyable at high speeds.
It's easy to ride it, as it seems to be able to go anywhere.
Custom parts are more abundant than expected since many parts are common to PCX.
Cons/DissatisfactionsGlossing of the black unpainted areas is essential.
There is a difference in appearance if you don't do it.
Also, the total balance is good, but the front and rear suspension is hard and picks up road bumps well.
Advice for prospective buyersThe design is stable and royal.
Some people think it looks a bit old-fashioned, but I think this design is good because you never get tired of it.
If you want to buy a scooter with good total performance without being flashy, I recommend it!
