MOTOSALON's XSR700
In the past few years, machines that combine old-fashioned design with modern technology have been introduced by various manufacturers and have gained popularity. They are so-called Neo-Retro motorcycles. This is probably because many riders feel that the classic style of these machines and the fact that they are brand-new machines are more reassuring than machines that are no longer in production, as well as the fact that they offer sufficient performance. The XSR700 introduced here is one such Neo-Retro.
The XSR700 incorporates many of Moto Salon's parts. Unlike older models, however, few performance-enhancing parts are used. The only modifications are a stainless steel mesh hose from SPEEDBRAKES and 64 titanium alloy bolts (beta titanium) for the brakes, brackets, and other parts. The exhaust and suspension have not been changed, and the potential of the vehicle has been drawn out. Of course, the exhaust and suspension could have been changed to further enhance the driving experience, but no modifications were made to this vehicle. On the other hand, by adding parts that enhance the classic look of the bike, the machine has a distinctly different atmosphere from the stock version. The main parts are made by JvB Moto. These include the headlight, tail and side cowls, and other exterior parts. These are bolt-on parts, so they can be easily attached and removed. Although they are unpainted and will need to be painted, they are a relatively low-cost way to change the atmosphere of the machine.
It is also noteworthy that the MOTOSALON has also incorporated parts from its Valter Moto Components, Domino, and GB Racing companies. These parts are used to accentuate the classic look of the bike without sacrificing its originality. Each of these parts is not expensive, so owners who want to give their XSR700 a more unique and personalized style should pay attention to this machine. However, the more you accumulate these parts, the more you will have to spend. For this reason, no performance-related parts have been installed. The owner will install the parts step by step to create the desired style. Once that is achieved, the performance-related parts are modified.
Chassis
Fork boots for an off-road feel and short-type front fenders are both by JvB Moto. The stainless steel mesh brake hoses, which improve brake touch, are by SPEEDBRAKES and are available in a choice of 13 colors.
The rotors and calipers are stock, but the bolts that fasten them have been changed to 64 titanium alloy from beta titanium. The weight reduction and the increased rigidity of the bolts will provide more stable braking. The axle sliders are from Valter Moto Components.
Handle
The handlebars have been changed to Domino. They are lower and wider than stock and match well with the style reminiscent of scrambler taste. The mirrors are a combination of Chaft.
Both clutch and brake levers have been replaced with German MFWs handled by MotoSalon. The lever width is infinitely adjustable, and the tip can slide up to 20 mm. The front indicator is made by JvB Moto.
Bodyworks
The tank itself is stock, but the logo and cap on the tank section have been changed. The cap is made of machined aluminum by Valter Moto Components and can be opened and closed without the need for a key. It also results in a slight weight reduction.
The machined aluminum number holder, one of the eye-catchers around the rear, is made by Valter Moto Components. It is basically for the MT-07, but the tail cowl has been modified so that it can be used on the XSR700.
Electrical
The XSR700's stock headlight also has a unique light, but it has been replaced with a JvB Moto light that is integrated with the headlight cover. This gives the bike a vintage off-duty look, and at the same time, it balances the look of the other parts of the bike. The vehicle is equipped with halogen bulbs, but HID bulbs are also available.
The tail cowl with integrated solo seat and LED tail light is by JvB Moto. Sold separately, they need to be replaced at the same time. Not only the front, but the rear is stylish as well. The rear turn signals are made by Click 'n' Ride, whose bulb part can be quickly removed without the need for tools.
Engine
The aluminum-based radiator core guard is made by Kedo. The sides are black, and the overall appearance of the machine is well-balanced. While reducing the risk of damage to the core from flying rocks, it can also be used as a dress-up part.
In case of a crash, the team deployed frame sliders from Valter Moto Components and engine covers from GB Racing, a major brand in the road racing scene, including MotoGP.
The oil drain bolts are now made of beta-titanium to prevent snagging, and the oil filter has been changed to one made by K&P Engineering. The latter uses a stainless steel filter, which has a more stable oil permeability than fiber filters and is reusable.
Step
The rearset is made by Valter Moto Components to optimize the position.
