All details were revealed when the final version of the Triumph TE-1 project, developed in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering, was accepted.

The final electric sports car prototype, the Triumph TE-1 Project, has been revealed with numbers revealing a power unit of 175 horsepower and a range of 100 miles.

The TE-1 is the first all-electric model to sport the Triumph logo. It was developed in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering as a tester to see what the British company had to offer when it started electrifying the model. The TE-1 project kicks off 2020 with official sketches revealed, before Triumph provides more details over the 18 months that follow. It revealed a forged prototype of the sports bike earlier this year.

Now, the final finished version has been revealed along with important stats. With Triumph and WAE attempting to showcase the TE-1's racing data, Triumph is focused on delivering performance with a 130 kW battery. That equates to about 175 hp. This is almost on par with the flagship Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS, while accelerating is almost the same at 3.6 seconds, compared to the Speed Triple at 3.1 seconds. Based on this, TE The -1 can be extended to 100 miles in the real world, which Triumph describes as a category leader in the electric motorcycle arena. Triumph also lifts the TE-1's 220kg to the Speed Triple 1200 RS 197. kg, which is 20% lighter than the competition and can be charged to 80% in just 20 minutes.

WAE is delighted to be involved in this exciting project to deliver the TE-1 prototype, said Dyrr Ardash, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Williams Advanced Engineering.

Since its inception in 2018, all partners have worked together, innovation and passion to bring boundless prototypes to life. It's nice to hear the positive comments of drivers. This confirms that the motorcycle's dynamics are in line with Triumph's DNA.

This is backed by the class-leading battery and control systems that WAE manufactures within a lightweight, integrated package. Looking forward to seeing future powertrains. While the TE-1 is still a prototype at the moment, there is no clear indication it will go into production as is. But it is expected to be the inspiration for the upcoming electric model from the British company.
