A-TECH, which has recently been producing exterior parts for the Suzuki KATANA and BMW G310R, has a strong fan base, especially in Europe, for the SV650/X exterior parts were developed. Including materials and finishes, a total of 93 types have been developed.
Basically, the exterior parts produced for the SV650X are designed with an emphasis on the cohesiveness of A-TECH's products. Therefore, some parts have the same shape as the OEM parts, some have been extended from the OEM parts, and some have been changed in shape.
For example, the radiator hose cover SPL is extended from the OEM by approximately 100 mm. The A-TECH decided that placing a part with the same shape in the same location as the factory one would be a little too conspicuous. Therefore, the A-TECH studied and found a cohesive look by extending the length. The A-TECH's experience in handling numerous exterior parts was put to good use in this area.
Most products, except sliders and radiator core guards, are available in five types: FRP (black and white gel), which is in a lower price range and easy to repair; plain-weave and twill-weave carbon, which is expected to have a luxurious feel and high strength; and carbon Kevlar. It is also possible to use all carbon to enhance the dress-up effect, or to use FRP to create a unique look, including painting. The SV650X, which until now had almost no choice when it came to customization, now has a new way to have fun.
The products installed on the demo motorcycle were all made of wet carbon. This was a little surprising, as A-TECH is also famous for its dry carbon parts under the brand name "Black Diamond", but it may be possible to develop dry carbon products in the future.
Custom point
In recent years, demand for sliders and guard parts has been particularly high, regardless of the model, and A-TECH has prepared not only cowls but also sliders and guards for the SV650X. In particular, the roller-type stand hook sliders can be installed together with the A-TECH's drive chain guard, and can also be used as racing stand hooks.
A radiator core guard was also developed to prevent damage to the radiator from insects and pebbles while riding. Two types are available: Standard, with the A-TECH logo in the center, and Type R, which focuses on protecting the center of the radiator (photo: Standard). 16,500 yen *approx. 121 USD and up.
An undercowl is also available for users who enjoy racing and track riding on the SV650X. The undercowl is compatible with the factory exhaust system and can also be used with the side stand, making it easy to use on the street. 33,000 yen *approx. 243 USD and up.
Two types of front fenders are available: the OEM type and the SPL type (photo: SPL), which has both sides extending to the front of the front fork to reduce aerodynamic drag. 16,500 yen *approx. 121 USD and up.
The factory radiator cover has a triangular cutout for a visual change, but the A-TECH has differentiated itself in terms of design by molding the surface plainly, while conforming to the factory size, etc. Priced from 15,400 yen *approx. 113 USD.
A-TECH offers two types of tank covers that are often requested to prevent scratches on the tank. This is a welcome addition to a product that is basically only available for popular car models. The Type R in the photo starts at 17,600 yen *approx. 130 USD, and the Type S at 9,680 yen *approx. 71 USD.
The SV650/X has a cover between the petrol tank and frame, and the A-TECH also produces a tank front cover to enhance this quality. Photo shows carbon, but FRP versions are also available. 22,000 yen *approx. 162 USD and up.
The side covers are also newly made in the shape of the factory ones. 22,000 yen *approx. 162 USD and up. A tank guard for the rear brake fluid cup, which is unexpectedly conspicuous due to the black frame, was also made.
Rear tires can cause dirt and scratches around the rear of the vehicle. A rear fender with an integrated chain cover is also available to reduce such dirt splattering, starting at 16,500 yen *approx. 121 USD.
A dry carbon cover is also available as a change rod guard. The use of high-strength dry carbon ensures safety, since the deformation of the cover in the unlikely event of a fall would impair driving. 4,400 yen *approx. 32 USD
