Suzuki has launched a new special Suzuki Hayabusa GP Edition to mark the legendary milestone when Suzuki retires from the world-famous Moto GP race.

Suzuki announced that it will officially withdraw from the Moto GP season at the end of 2022 and it will instead switch to more environmentally friendly projects. In fact, Suzuki is ready to introduce a new GP version of one of its most popular motorcycles, the Hayabusa. The Suzuki Hayabusa GP Edition will be on display after the San Marino MotoGP race at Misano during the Auto look Week Torino event in Turin, from September 7-11, 2022.

Leaving the race was a surprise for fans of MotoGP sports racing. Despite the fact that the company has just renewed a new contract with Dorna just weeks before the start of the season. And this is not the first time Suzuki has left the world race. That happened in the years 2012-2014 before returning to play in 2015 to the present season.
At the event, Suzuki will present an exhibition about the history of World GP racing from the past to the present. Both the 1981 and 1982 Suzuki RG500s, which won the world championships in 1981 and 1982, are on display. And current team drivers Alex Rins and Kazuki Watanabe (who replaced the injured Joah Mir), also drove the GSX-RR in the event.

All information about the Suzuki Hayabusa GP Edition 2023 will be kept under wraps until its official unveiling during Auto look Torino Week. However, it wouldn't be strange if the Hayabusa GP Editions have identical specifications and performance. Hayabusa is normal, except for the race-oriented upgrades. The current Suzuki Hayabusa is equipped with a 1,340cc in-line 4-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower and 110 ft-lbs of torque.
