Erwan Nigon, a member of the Viltaïs Racing Igo team that won the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Bol d'Or race last month, has announced his retirement.
The 39-year-old Erwan, who also has a distinguished record, winning the title in the 2018-19 season of the FIM World Endurance Championship with SRC Kawasaki France, confided that he has been behind the wheel of a racing machine for 25 years and has been very successful and that he has plans to stay involved in the sport.
"When I try to talk about my retirement, I get so intense emotions that I shake.," began French rider Erwan. "The bike is my life. It wasn't easy to end the page of my racing life, but now is the time. But now is the right time. My ultimate goal was to win the 24 Hours of Bol d'Or, and I did it. I have thought about it a lot over the years. I am 39 years old now. It has always been my dream to end my racing career with a victory."
