On November 1, Yamaha unveiled the 2023 Tenere 700 in Europe. The engine is already compliant with Euro 5 emission regulations, and the model has been updated with a focus on utility features such as a new meter and connected functions.
ABS has 3 modes and can be turned off for the front and rear wheels
The 2023 Ténéré 700 features a new full-color 5-inch TFT meter, which is used by the Ténéré 700 World Raid, available only in Europe. Two display themes are available: Explorer, which features a bar graph tachometer in the center of the screen, and Street, which displays a circular meter.
The new meter can also be linked to a smartphone via Bluetooth. By using the Yamaha MyRide app, riders can display notifications of incoming phone calls, e-mails, and messages on the meter, and check various information such as trip distance and maximum speed via the app.
Other features include the brake function, which previously had two modes: front and rear ABS on and rear wheel off, has been expanded to three modes with the addition of front and rear ABS off. The brakes are now capable of more serious off-road driving. In addition, the vehicle is pre-wired to be equipped with a quick shifter (optional) that allows gear shifting without operating the clutch.
In terms of details, the updated model features a brake lever with a structure that is resistant to breakage in the event of a fall, and the 12V power supply has been replaced by a USB socket. The Japanese version of the 2023 model is expected to undergo similar changes, but its release date is currently unknown.
