Yamaha has announced the new XSR700 Legacy model for the overseas market. The specifications and other features are the same as the previous model, but the various equipment has been changed to a full-fledged scrambler style.
It is equipped with a strobe-colored tank, LED headlight with the guard, and up handlebars with braces, as well as an up exhaust system and handlebar guards as optional parts. There are no plans to release the model in Japan.
Sports Heritage with the latest custom scene mode
The XSR700, which was introduced in 2016 and underwent a model change to comply with the latest emission regulations in 2022, is a middle-sport bike equipped with a cross-plane parallel twin-cylinder engine that shares the same basic design as the YZF-R7. While the XSR family consists of two models, 700cc and 900cc, in Japan, it is lined up in various displacements such as 125cc and 155cc overseas and is highly regarded as a sports heritage model.
The newly introduced XSR700 Legacy is a variation of the XSR125 that had already been introduced the previous year.
Compared to the standard model, which had a road sport feel, the Legacy version is a scrambler model in the XSR series, equipped with various off-road features and a classical color scheme. The engine is the same as the standard model, but it comes standard with a guarded LED headlight and braced-up handlebars. Pirelli block-pattern tires are also used, and the promotional movie shows the bike's performance on flat dirt roads.
The attractive XSR700 Legacy is unfortunately not expected to be released in Japan. We look forward to the further evolution of the domestic model.

The XSR700 has undergone minor changes for 2022, including an LED headlight and compliance with the latest emission regulations. The Legacy is a scrambler model that has been refined to be more classical.

The same LED lights as the previous model are guarded. The handlebars are also up-type and equipped with a brace for a more authentic off-road feel.

The engine is a parallel twin-cylinder that shares basic components with the YZF-R7 and delivers 73.4 PS. A cross-plane crankshaft provides a sporty performance.

The wheels are 17 inches front and rear. The wheels are cast wheels so thin that they appear to speak wheels at first glance. The tires are Pirelli block patterns, which give the motorcycle off-road riding potential.

An Akrapovic up-type exhaust system and handlebar guard are also available as optional parts. These parts further enhance the off-road taste of the motorcycle.
