Motorcycle & Industry

Honda unveiled its new XL750 Transalp model at the Milan Show. Following the CL, Honda's traditional naming of the Transalp will return for the first time in 10 years, since 2012. The Transalp uses the same 755cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder, OHC engine as the previously announced CB750 Hornet, and is equipped with the latest features.
It is expected to go on sale in Japan in late May, and we cannot stop anticipating this new middle adventure that will stir up the spirit of adventure!

Resurrection Transalp follows up the adventure with the latest equipment.

The Transalp series was first introduced in 1987. Although it was the beginning of the adventure tourer series from Honda, sales in Japan ended in 1994. Its large size, styling, and drivability were preferred overseas, and the model for overseas markets was produced until 2012. The new XL750 Transalp uses a 755cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder OHC engine that shares the same basic design as the CB750 Hornet. Output was announced at 67.5 kW (91.8 PS)/9,500 rpm. Although it is a different lineage from the previous generation series that used a V-twin engine, there is no doubt that it will be a dependable model that will support touring with a variety of the latest equipment.

The chassis configuration is also typical of an adventure model, with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels.
It is equipped with SHOWA (Hitachi Astemo) φ43mm inverted front forks and a Pro-Link and aluminum swingarm at the rear for neutral handling and off-road rideability.

The operating system is throttle-by-wire and features HSTCHonda Selectable Torque Control, which allows control of torque control. Advanced electronic control allows detailed function settings, such as changing power output characteristics and partial cutoff of ABS. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with full LED lights, an emergency stop signal that allows the stop lamp to flash at high speed during emergency braking, and a full LCD 5-inch TFT color display for the instrument panel.

Although the release date has not yet been announced, the fact that information is being updated on Honda's Japan website one after another indicates that it is scheduled to go on sale in Japan. We expect it to go on sale in Japan in late May. Expect more information to be announced in the future.

Transalp was revived after an absence of about 10 years. Although Transalp had many overseas fans, it was also long-awaited by ardent fans in Japan. Although the body structure has been completely redesigned, the Transalp is still an adventure model that can be used reliably in off-road terrain.

The engine adopted is a 755cc parallel two-cylinder OHC. It will definitely have a different character from the flagship adventure model, the CRF1100L Africa Twin. The clutch is equipped with an assist and slipper clutch as standard.

Advanced state-of-the-art electronic control allows free control of traction and modification of power characteristics. The instrumentation features a 5-inch TFT color display.

Wheels are 21" front and 18" rear in a highly runnable off-road style. The front brakes are double discs.
