Founded in 2019, Aidea, a company that manufactures and sells EV mobility, has announced a new vehicle, the AA-wiz.
Equipped with large area front and rear carriers, this business-oriented model is available in two power outputs to suit the 50cc and 125cc classes. It is equipped with a large-capacity lithium-ion battery and has a range of 123 km.
In addition to the standard model, a PRO version specialized for newspaper delivery will also be released.
The release date has not yet been announced, but the price is expected to be (approx.) 3860 USD.
EV bike for business with sophisticated design
Founded in 2019, AIDEA is a manufacturer and seller of EV mobility in Japan. Last year, the company sold the AA-Cargo, an EV trike for business use with a roof, which has started to play an active role in transportation and delivery operations in urban areas. The new AA-wiz, which is now available, employs the equipment required of a conventional business scooter, while the product designers have designed a unique Italian design. The new AA-wiz has a sophisticated style.

The lineup consists of two types:「AA-wiz α」with a rated output of 0.6 kW, equivalent to 50 cc power, and「AA-wiz β」 with a rated output of 1.0 kW, equivalent to 125 cc power. In addition,「AA-wiz Pro」, which specialized in newspaper delivery work, will be available in each output. Brakes are front and rear disc brakes, with a combination brake system providing stable braking power. In-wheel motors are incorporated in the rear wheels, aiming to reduce the number of drivetrain components and directly demonstrate power.
The battery is a high-capacity lithium-ion with a capacity of approximately 4 kWh and can travel a long distance of up to 123 km on a single charge. Charging is done by connecting the cable directly to the vehicle body and using a 200/100 V outlet. Public four-wheel vehicle charging facilities are also available, with charging times of 200 V/3 hours and 100 V/6 hours.
The AA-wiz, which will be the next-generation EV motorcycle for business use, is priced at approx. 3855 USD (PRO: 3935 USD), although the release date has not yet been announced. The price of the AA-Cargo EV trike, which has been released for some time, is (approx.) 6410 USD and up, so it is likely to be positioned as a smaller, less expensive model.
Both front and rear brakes are disc type, and a combination brake is used, with the rear brake working in conjunction with the front.
Drive is provided by an in-wheel motor built into the rear wheel. This eliminates the need for a chain or belt and reduces power loss.
When charging, the battery is not removed, but a cable is connected to the vehicle body. Charging can be done from either a 200 V or 100 V power source.
The lineup also includes a Pro version equipped with a large carrier and front basket specifically for use in newspaper delivery. The performance is expected to surpass that of gasoline-powered vehicles in terms of quietness and other features.
AIDEA is a relatively new manufacturer, founded in 2019, that will launch its business trike AA-Cargo in 2021.
The model is being marketed for businesses such as retail deliveries.
