Motorcycle & Industry

The fast-paced year 2022 is almost over. So we've compiled a list of the most popular Webike Motorcycle over the past year, based on the number of views. Here is the ranking of the most popular Webike Motorcycle in 2022!

What is the overall popularity ranking?
The ranking is based on the number of times each model was viewed in Webike Motorcycle Selection in the past month. The conditions for this refinement are "1 year" and "released within the past 3 years" for the aggregation period, and the annual overall ranking extracted without including other displacements, motorcycle types, and so on.

Rankings are updated every Friday.

This ranking article was produced on December 18.

5. Honda Rebel 250

In fifth place is the Rebel 250, which is popular among the younger generation and is the top-selling model in the light motorcycle class. It is a popular model that deserves to be ranked in the top five.

In fact, the popularity of the Rebel is a bit different from the previous motorcycles, and when it debuted in 2017, it was not that popular. However, word of mouth, especially on social networking sites, spread the word that it was "easy to ride," "cool," and "easy to get on your feet," and it gradually sold well, and before you knew it, it was all over the place. This was a good example of a boom that was not led by the manufacturer or the media, but by pure consumers, and it has had a major impact on marketing today.

Next year in 2023, a new scrambler-style model based on this Rebel 250 = CL250 is also on standby.
The biggest competitor of the Rebel 250 maybe this sibling model.

4. Honda CT125 Hunter Cub

In fourth place was another moped type 2. The Hunter Cub, a popular camping touring partner, ranked at No. 4.

This one has only a 4-speed transmission with manual operation. However, since there is no clutch lever, an AT-only driver's license is required, making it perfect for those who want to enjoy a more motorcycle-like atmosphere than a scooter.

The minor-changed 2023 model went on sale this past December. While the exterior remains largely unchanged, a new engine with 0.3ps more power and a 5-step initial adjustment mechanism for the rear suspension have been added to further enhance the product's strength. At the same time, a new matte silver color was added to the existing red and green body colors.

Along with the PCX, which came in third, the moped 2 class is just easy and convenient. The Hunter Cub was probably a hit because it combined this convenience with the trendy element of the outdoors. It will be hard to find another combination element that surpasses it next year.

3. Honda PCX (125)

Next, PCX, the second type of moped, was chosen as the third most popular Webike of the year.

This is probably because scooters, which are the easiest to operate among all types of motor scooters, attracted attention as a means of commuting to and from work that avoids crowded trains with the Corona disaster, not to mention for everyday casual riding. The number of people acquiring the AT scooter license, which is the minimum required to ride a scooter, increased dramatically because it became possible for those with a four-wheeled vehicle license to attend a driving school for a minimum of two days.

The PCX has an exquisite chassis that is neither too large nor too small and has a high-quality feel, a secure ride, and a 30-liter trunk that demonstrates its excellence as a tool for daily life. At the same time, there are many custom parts available, and the fact that they can be tweaked for fun is probably the reason for their popularity. The popularity of the scooter is likely to continue to grow in the coming year.

Will there ever be a model that surpasses the PCX? I am looking forward to it.

2. Honda CB400SF

Second place went to Honda's CB400SF. It has reigned as the face of the 400cc class for a long time, and most riders in their 40s or younger must have obtained their regular motorcycle license on this machine.

The reason why only the CB survived after the production of the 400cc straight-four rivals was discontinued was probably because it was supported by its straightforward, easy-to-ride, and fast performance. However, production finally came to an end in October 2010. The main reason for this seems to be that the increased cost of complying with the 2020 emission regulations could not be absorbed. The fact that Webike is now the number two most popular motorcycle in its class is evidence of this.

It was as if the number of votes was boosted by those who searched for a vehicle in a hurry to obtain one upon hearing the news of the end of production. New motorcycles are priced at a premium, but used bikes can still be found at reasonable prices. If you want one, please take a look at the used motorcycle listed on Webic Bike Choice.

1. Kawasaki Z900RS

Kawasaki's Z900RS has won the number one machine in Webic for the year 2022!

Many people were frustrated last year and the year before because it was difficult to obtain even new models of this neo-classic model, which is based on the Z1 and Z2 of yesteryear. This number is a clear leader in the small motorcycle class above 401 cc, more than four times ahead of the second place. Such data also explains why the Webike is the most popular model in the market.

The 2023 model, which went on sale in September of this year, underwent minor changes. While compliant with the latest 2020 emission regulations, there is no reduction in performance, and the maximum output and torque remain the same as before. In fact, it is said that the engine control has been made more precise, and the actual performance has even been improved. Sales have been as strong as ever in the second half of the year, and we wonder how many new owners there will be in 2022. I envy those who were able to get their hands on one.

In addition, the 6th through 10th places were as follows.

8. ADV150 Combination of popular elements: scooter and outdoor activities
