Profile

The Honda Monkey 125 is a motorbike that has been on the rise in the last two years. In addition to its unique and easy-to-modify body, upgrading to 125 cc from the old model, which was only 50cc, made the motorbike body slightly larger so that the body position was not too bent and of course, the engine was more powerful.

This time, Webike will discuss the 2020 Monkey 125, which belongs to Webike's loyal customer, Soedarto. But, the engine is no longer 125cc, you know, but it's been bored up to 162cc! Ready to be speeding!

Machine

The bore-up process uses a lining cylinder made of carbon which is commonly used for racing motorbikes. To match the increased engine cc, a fuel injector controller F1 Type Con-e and a special Monkey 125 air filter from SP Takegawa were also installed.

Apart from that, the oil cooler was also changed to the Morin brand, with the MSX125 Grom specs with a slight modification to the installation because the position of the special Monkey oil cooler is generally in front of the cylinder head which makes airflow less okay. The result of this combination of modifications is that the recorded top speed can reach 127km/jam, and possibly more.

The engine and cylinder areas are decorated with various accessories such as crankcase rings and cylinder heads from KITACO.

Exhaust

Because the engine is all in, the exhaust also uses the XL Full Titanium series from OVER Racing and the YSS Thailand Black Edition rear shock specifically for Monkey 125.

Bodywork

Right side cover of SP Takegawa is painted red with the original Honda “Monkey” sticker. The frame cover is from U DOM Karnchang with a Monkey image on it.

One of the prominent features of the Monkey 125 bore-up is the headlight cowl from Cub House by Honda, which is oval in shape with a red-black color that matches the overall look.

The fender eliminator from OVER Racing makes the tail area slimmer and neater. Don't forget there is a small box bracket from Cub House by Honda which is painted bright red. The wheels are similarly painted to match.

The Monkey 125's original front fender is positioned far above the handlebars, and not everyone likes this look, so the Down Fender Bracket from KITACO can make the fender position lower and more proportional, and not block airflow to the oil cooler.

Suspension

The rear shock is YSS Thailand Black Series which is high and the rebound value is adjustable. The front shock was replaced Ohlins with the hardness level.
