Motorcycle & Industry

Suzuki, which launched the new Address 125 and the new Avenis 125 in October 2022, appears to have a third more in the works. This is a sibling model that utilizes the same platform as the two preceding models but is an advanced version equipped with an idling stop and silent starter. Finally, the real deal is here.

Competing with PCX is Burgman Street 125EX

The new Address 125 and Avenis 125, launched in Japan in October, are new-generation scooters manufactured in India and use a common platform with the same air-cooled single-cylinder SOHC 2-valve 124cc engine, main frame, and suspension.

It has a third sibling, the Bergman Street 125EX, which made its European debut at the Intermot show in October. And since it is expected to go on sale in Japan this April, it will most likely make its first public appearance at the Osaka Motorcycle Show starting March 17.

The Bergman Street 125EX is an advanced model equipped with the ESP-α, which adds idling stop and silent starter functions to the ESP engines of the two preceding models. Maximum output is 8.5 PS at 6500 rpm in Europe, which is not as good as liquid-cooled models such as the PCX (12.5 PS) and Cygnus Grifas (12 PS), but the price advantage will be expected.

On the other hand, the Bergman Street 125EX against the new Address and Avenis features a refueling port under the seat, which allows for smart refueling even with a top case installed. It also has a luxurious appearance and is likely to be favored for commuting use. The price in Europe is approximately 310 USD higher than that of the new Address, but the price in Japan is currently unknown.

Burgman Street 125EX European Spec [SUZUKI] With its step-through body and upscale styling, this concept is a good combination of PCX and Cygnus Griffas.
Only the Burgman has a 12-inch rear suspension.

A fueling port is provided at the rear under the seat. The utility space is 21.5 liters, which is almost the same capacity as the new Address and Avenis.

The front storage is also provided on both sides, with the left side providing a lid and USB power. The key cylinder has a shutter, although it is not a smart key.

A 27-liter top box and back pad are optional in Europe. It seems to be able to comfortably handle two passengers.

The engine is a forced air-cooled OHC 2-valve and the photo shows the new Address 125. The Burgman Street 125EX also uses the same type of engine and chassis.

New Address 125 Japan specs [SUZUKI] The new model has been reborn with a classic style that differs from the impression of the conventional Address. The body also features a steel plate for use in India. It is priced at (approx.) 2110 USD.
