Nevertheless, after riding the Z900RS SE for approximately 1,000 km, I was struck by Kawasaki's consideration for Japanese road conditions and Japanese tastes, which is distinctly different from other Kawasaki parallel 4-cylinder models.

Kawasaki's skill at making and separating
During a 500-km touring trip for a photo shoot on the Z900RS SE, I was reminded once again of how well Kawasaki has been able to separate the different models in recent years, and how each model has its own clear raison d'etre. Currently, the company has introduced eight models in the Japanese market, or 19 if you include derivatives, of its large-displacement parallel-four models.
For example, I missed the H2 SX and Ninja 1000SX for their outstanding wind protection on the highway, the Versys 1000SE for its superb ride comfort on rough roads, and the ZX-10R, Z H2, Z1000, and Z900 for their sharp mobility on mountain passes. However, the Z900RS series, including the SE, is unique in its appeal, and I felt that the Z900RS series is very good at creating these easily recognizable features.
