Shabon Dama's ZRX1200/R
Shabondama is well versed in customizing the Kawasaki ZRX series. This ZRX1200R has an original reinforced frame and a frame-mounted bikini cowl. Instead of increasing the displacement, the compression ratio has been increased. Other than that, the suspensions, paint, and controls have been all customized to the last detail to make it "the best ZRX custom in Japan" in both name and reality.
Shabondama always takes into account their customer's usage and provides software and hardware to suit it, as well as updates. ZRX is at the center of such a relationship, and this custom is a perfect example of that.
Electrical
The seemingly stock gauges replaced the stock case speedometer with a STACK speedometer, and YOSHIMURA multimeter is added. The steering stem is a Wheelie monoblock, and the left and right master cylinders are GALE SPEED Elaborate.
The battery is lithium-ion, made by Antigravity, which is lightweight, small, and stable, the seat is made by Supreme, and the paint is YF Design, all three of which are perfect choices for custom.
Bodyworks
Doctor SUDA's brackets make the bikini cowl frame-mounted for a lighter handling. The frame is also reinforced at the neck and the upper part of the pivot.
Engine
The engine has a plated cylinder, so the bore and stroke are not changed. The engine tuning, such as high-compression pistons, Yoshimura ST-1 camshafts, and the addition of a DIS (direct ignition system) to make the ignition more like a modern bike, was done by TG Nakagawa.
The clutch cover, oil bypass kit, and cylinder head cover are billet by Wheelie, and the cooling system has been reinforced. The carburetor is TMR Φ40mm.
Chassis
The front forks are Ohlins upright, and the front brake consists of Brembo axial billet 4P calipers and SUNSTAR brake disc.
The front and rear wheels are magnesium forged MAGTAN JB4 by JB Power in 3.50-17 and 6.50-17 sizes, and the swingarm is made of 7N01 aluminum alloy with a pentagon shaped triple-section squared cross section.
The rear shocks are also by Ohlins, and the rear brakes consists of Brembo CNC 2P caliper and SUNTAR brake disc. The exhaust system is a combination and Nojima Engineering Spiral Collector titanium exhaust pipe with an Ohnishi Heat Magic silencer. The rearsets are also by Wheelie.
