Sanctuary's Z900 (KZ900)
The 499th RCM (Real Complete Machine) by SANCTUARY. The base model is KZ900, which has been given a dual role.
SANCTUARY's goal in this custom was to expand the kinds of custom base models. Using many high-grade parts for expensive Z models, such as Z1, Z1-R, Z1000Mk.II would cost too much. However, the specifications themselves remain almost the same throughout the Z series. Therefore, SANCTUARY tried to offer a new Z custom has a high-end specification while keeping the total cost smaller by using the relatively reasonable North American-spec KZ900 and KZ1000 ('76-'78 models) as the base. This custom was also to discover sales opportunities in the U.S. SANCTUARY has been receiving an increasing number of inquiries from overseas fans interested in Japanese 4-cylinder bikes and their modern customization. In the U.S., where the hurdle between those models and the Z1 is not so high, new developments may be possible. This is one that makes us think so.
Handle
Clip-on handlebars are Daytona, stem is NITRO RACING Sculpture SP TYPE-3, and fork offset is 35mm.
The meter is retained with few differences from Z1.
The front brake and clutch master are Brembo RCS.
Bodyworks
The exteriors are painted by a paint shop Okushin. The frame is reinforced in 12 places with Sanctuary's original ST-2 reinforcement and powder-coated after blasting.
Single seat cowl has a tool space inside. Inner fender and seat bracket are one-off made.
Chassis
Front forks are Ohlins RWU Φ43mm. Front brake consists of Brembo GP4 RX calipers amd RCM Concept Φ320mm discs with Allegri brake hoses.
Wheels are forged aluminum OZ Racing GASS RS-A for ZRX1200, 3.50-17 for the front and 5.50-17 rear. Rear shocks are Ohlins Legend Twin.
The intake system has TMR Φ38mm dual stack funnel carburetor, and the exhaust system has a hand bent titanium silencer by NITRO RACING.
Engine
The displacement is increased to 930cc using WOSSNER Φ67mm forged pistons.
