Z650RS(649cc)Owner: Taketa
This corner introduces one MY BIKE submitted to Webike Community every week.
The model introduced this time is Kawasaki「Z650RS」and the owner is "Taketa".
The Z650RS, released in 2022, is a retro-style naked bike from Kawasaki. The Z650RS is styled like a smaller version of the Z900RS and is equipped with a liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine that is the same design as that of the Ninja 650. Instead of the trendy digital gauges, the Ninja 650 uses bullet-shaped analog gauges that are well suited to the retro style. The upright handlebars are also designed for ease of use. Compared to the Z900RS, which is equipped with an inline 4-cylinder engine and has an imposing physique, the Z900RS may seem smaller and quieter at first glance.
However, the Ninja's powerful engine and compact, lightweight body also provide snappy mobility, and its functionality is appealing because it is casual without losing its sporty appeal. Such practicality attracted attention, and reservations were flooding in at the time of its release. The motorcycle market as a whole was in short supply at the time, and many people said they could not afford to buy one! It was a time when the entire motorcycle market was in short supply, and many people were heard saying, "It's hard to buy one!"
The rider introduced here, Mr. Taketa, won the lottery for the 50th-anniversary model of the Z650RS in the even rarer fireball color! He is one of the first riders to enjoy its charms. The torquey two-cylinder is stress-free, and the modern cornering performance is very straightforward. "The fuel economy is good, and I can't find any disadvantages at the moment," he says. The compact chassis is also just the right size and power for me as an adult rider.

The Z650RS is similar to the Z900RS in style and equipment, but the tank is smaller at 12 liters. The wheelbase is also quite compact at 1405 mm. The Z650RS is also lightweight at 188 kg, making it one of the most maneuverable middle-sport models.

The analog double meter is classic, yet full of charm not found in digital meters. The bullet-shaped meter case is reminiscent of the Zephyr series.

The Z650RS has the potential to be a fun and powerful sports bike for winding roads. With custom parts now available, it is sure to be a fun machine to tinker with!
FROM MY BIKE COMMENTS
I was looking for a Rebel 250 for my wife and for myself, and I found a Z650RS, a 2-cylinder bike with perfect looks that would suit my age! I immediately applied for the Z650RS on the day of the announcement! And now I have won the lottery for the 50th-anniversary color, though the odds were quite high. I took delivery on May 20, 2010!
We compared Triumph Street Twin and XSR700.
In the end, I bought it because I won the lottery, but I'm glad I chose it!
Advantages
The look is inherited from the traditional Z series, and the engine is two engines down, so there is no need to finely manipulate gears even on winding roads, making it stress-free.
Since the base is a z650, cornering is very straightforward and it turns naturally without any elbow grease. Three months after delivery, the average fuel consumption is about 28km/l.
I sometimes play with the bike by turning it hard, so the mileage is good for that.
Disadvantages
I can't find any so far. If I had to pick one, I'd say tank capacity. And aftermarket parts are not yet available, so I can't choose. But the only thing I want to change is the exhaust system. I also don't want to change the original style too much. The current candidate is a short muffler that SP Tadao is developing!
Advice for prospective buyers
It may not be enough for those who like 4-shot, but it is just the right size and power for me as an aphrodite. I don't think the 50th color is available anymore, but I recommend the green color, which is also very nice!
