Did you know that the SV650, which was revived in 2016, and the SV650X, which was introduced in 2018, are slowly regaining popularity? With recent delays from various makers and the price of the bikes rising in general, the SV650X offers the "heartbeat" of a V-twin engine at a relatively low price. The style of the SV650X with a bikini cowl is my personal favorite! Here are some recommended custom parts for the SV650/X.
Recommended Parts No. 1
YOSHIMURA Wind Armor
The YOSHIMURA Wind Armor for the SV650 is the best choice for a custom windshield to protect the rider from wind on highways and while touring. The streamlined form matches the chassis design and though it is only available in graphite black, the smoke color goes naturally with the SV650. There are of course other windshields available from other manufacturers, however, when it comes to design, I personally feel that some are too wide, or too short, and this is the one that's just right!

ACTIVE Fender Eliminator Kit
ACTIVE's fender eliminator kit, which offers bolt-on installation, is a popular item for many models. By decluttering the rear area, the overall look becomes more unified. Of course, it can also be used in combination with ACTIVE's "LED license plate side turn signals", so you can say goodbye to the somewhat out of place stock rear blinkers.
Recommended Parts No. 3
SUZUKI Tuck N' Roll Seat
The SV650's original seat is simple at best and you might say it's a bit lacking. This tuck n' roll seat is an OEM optional part that you can use to add a bit of character. The "SUZUKI" logo in Japanese is a stylish point and it also has some functional advantages such as increased cushioning and less slipping.

ENDURANCE Rear Rack with Pillion Grab Handles
For those who want both grab bars and a rear rack, this will solve all your problems! When you need to convince your wife to let you buy the SV650/X you simply need to say, "I can put a box on it to carry our stuff, and you can ride pillion so we can go out together!" Also, there is no need to drill any holes in the cowl, so you can remove it when your wife decides to buy a bike of her own. It is compatible with GIVI, SHAD, K-MAX, and other top cases, so you can choose your favorite case to use with it.
Recommended Parts No. 5
SP Tadao POWERBOX Pipe
The SP Tadao POWERBOX Pipe replaces only the exhaust pipe on the front bank side. It was introduced at the end of 2022, and has been enjoying great popularity. While it is quite common to see exhaust pipes that are wrapped around to increase the pipe length, this "U-shaped" exhaust pipe is designed to achieve an exhilarating feeling that only SP Tadao can provide. According to a Webike user, it "improves the throttle at low to mid speeds", which makes me want to give it a try.
Recommended Parts No. 6
SP Tadao POWERBOX Megaphone
For those who have experienced the exhilarating feeling of the POWERBOX Pipe, the next thing you might want is more power. If so, you should think about getting SP Tadao's POWERBOX Megaphone to go with it! Combined with the exhaust pipe, it increases the torque and the high-speed range. The silencer's internal structure and the BOX (expansion chamber) that controls the timing of the exhaust have been carefully designed and developed.

WR's SS-OVAL Type Slip-On Exhaust
I'd also recommend WR's Slip-On Exhaust, which was introduced in 2019 and has become popular due to its slim design. The Φ42.7 to Φ50mm tapered pipe has been developed to provide smooth revving performance. The center pipe is specially coated to prevent the seizing and corrosion you get with stainless steel and to retain the polished texture. Two types are available: solid and heat-colored!
Recommended Parts No. 8
YOSHIMURA Slip-On R-77J Cyclone
Lastly, I recommend YOSHIMURA's slip-on exhaust, the "R-77J Cyclone". When it comes to SUZUKI, YOSHIMURA exhausts are indispensable. This type features a sporty, race-derived design and produces a sound that emphasizes the unique "heartbeat" of the V-twin engine. The cover and end can be selected from a total of 6 types. This photo shows the stainless steel end type with stainless steel cover. Personally, I feel that the stainless steel end type with metal magic cover, which is shown in the top photo of the product page, matches the bike body even more.
In conclusion
Actually, I didn't have a particular interest in the SV650/X until recently, but as I searched for a good touring bike, I became more and more interested in it. Since custom parts are scarce compared to more popular models, I'll try to send some vibes to the manufacturers in hopes that they release more. As for exhaust systems, I think there are many aspects that are hard to convey unless you've ridden the bike yourself, so we welcome users to send their impressions of these products!
