HONDA has just announced the new 2024 Africa Twin series in Europe, and expects to roll out in Japan. The Adventure Sport (AS) will be launched with a 19-inch front and unchanged price as in Europe.
AS is expected to improve foot grounding with smaller diameter front wheels
The CRF Africa Twin, which debuted in 2016, was equipped with large 21-inch wheels on the front for off-road riding performance. This will be changed in Japan as well, with only the Adventure Sport model in the 2024 model year to a smaller diameter of 19 inches, a change that will enhance on-road comfort.
It also appears to offer improved wind protection with a new upper cowl style. The lineup will consist of the ES with electronic suspension and ES+DCT, as with the current model, and the only color variation is likely to be Pearl Glare White.
In Europe, an electronically controlled suspension version of the STD, the ES, has been added to the lineup, but it is not likely to be introduced in Japan. The STD lineup will be limited to the <S>, which has an extended front and rear suspension stroke as opposed to the AS, which has a smaller diameter front wheel.
It is expected to be equipped with tubeless tires with front and rear wheels changed to tubeless-compatible spoke wheels as in the European version, and to have the same adjustable windscreen as the AS. It is likely to be available only in Grand Prix Red in two different lineups with a DCT version.

The photo shows the CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES DCT European version. In Japan, the ES will probably remain unchanged from the previous model at approx 13,003 USD and the ES+DCT at approx. 13,737 USD, and hit the market in March 2023.
CRF1100L Africa Twin DCT European specifications (2024) [HONDA] STD has a new tail cowl as well as upper cowl. In Japan, only the long suspension <S> is likely to be in the lineup.
The photo shows the CRF1100L Africa Twin DCT European version. The STD and DCT would be available in Japan at approx. 10946 USD and approx. 11680 USD, respectively. It will have Alps graphics like the Transalp.
