The price is (approx.) 146 USD more than the previous model.
RR-R style wing makes it even more racy! Supersport style at a glance!
Launched in 2013, the CBR400R is a road sport model equipped with a 399cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder DOHC engine that is also shared with the 400X and other models. It underwent a major styling change with the 2016 model change, featuring LED headlights and a sporty fairing reminiscent of the CBR1000RR. In 2022, the model adopted an inverted fork, equipped radial-mount calipers on the front brakes, strengthened the rigidity of the swingarm, and lightened the weight of the wheels, thereby strengthening its character as a sports model.
The new model to be introduced in the market has specifications that follow the equipment of the CBR500R model for the overseas market, which was announced in the fall of 2023, but the exterior has undergone a major transformation. The entire fairing has been redesigned, and a new duct wing on the side cowl has been adopted.
The ducted wings are a cutting-edge feature that was also installed on the CBR1000RR-R before the CBR500R, and enhance performance at high speeds. This change further strengthens the supersport style. In terms of functionality, Honda Selectable Torque Control is newly adopted. In addition to enhancing riding safety, the instrument panel has been changed to a 5-inch TFT day display. The multi-functional monitor makes it easy to operate the Honda RoadSync smartphone integration function, as well as music playback and navigation.
The new model will go on sale on March 21, 2024 (Thursday), and will be available in two color variations, Grand Prix Red and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic, both priced at 863,500 yen. This is a price increase of (approx.) 146 USD over the previous model. Annual sales volume is expected to be 1,300 units.
The 2024 CBR400R model features all-new styling. Both equipment and features have been enhanced with a ducted wing and a 5-inch TFT meter, both of which are derived from the CBR1000RR-R.
It is also equipped with torque control (HSTC) and Honda RoadSync, a smartphone integration function. This assists in safe and comfortable riding.
The engine mounted on this model is a 399cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine that is also shared with the NX400. It delivers 46 PS at 9000 rpm.
