Honda Cub 100EX in 1988
The Cub 100EX was a "Riding Cub" with advanced features that were similar to those of the modern Cub, and it is especially well known among Cub fans as the "Thai Cub," but the reason it is called the Thai Cub is because of its origins.
The Cub 100EX was based on the Honda Dream 100, which was manufactured by Thai Honda Manufacturing Co. It was highly acclaimed for its ease of use, and became a popular model in Thailand alone, selling approximately 100,000 units in the two years from 1986, when it went on sale in the country.
Based on the Thai-made Dream 100, the Cub 100EX was modified for the Japanese market with telescopic front suspension and a rear suspension with two-level damping adjustment. It was produced in Thailand and imported to Japan for sales.
