Yamaha Motor has announced the new 2024 models of its mid-class street fighters, the MT-03 and MT-25. Last year, the MT was made compliant with exhaust gas regulations and a quick shifter option was added, and the new models only have a change in color, with the previous "pastel dark gray" now a "dark gray" color, a major change from the previous model. Blue and matte dark gray will continue to be available.
The models will be released on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, and the price will remain the same as before. With many models increasing in price, this is good news for fans.
Adopts the cyan and gray colors common to the MT family!
The MT-03, released in 2016, is a road sport that shares basic components with the full-cowl sports YZF-R3, such as a 320cc water-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine, but adopts a sharp and dynamic design with naked styling. It is differentiated from the YZF-R3 by its upright position, and combines control performance and light running. Along with the 250cc MT-25, it is a model that is highly popular among young people as an entry model of the MT series.
In the 2023 model change, the engine was made to comply with the latest Reiwa 2 exhaust gas regulations, which resulted in some changes to the shape of the exterior (under-cowl). The maximum output remains unchanged from the previous model at 42PS/10,750rpm (MT-03), and the maximum torque has been improved from 29N·m/9000rpm to 30N·m/9000rpm (MT-03). In addition, a quick shifter is available as an optional part, refining the sporty control.
The new model announced this time has the same specifications as last year, but the color variations have been revised. The previous "pastel dark gray" with cyan and red accents has been changed to a new "dark gray" with cyan and gray. This color is the same as the MT-09, 07, and MT-10, which are the big brothers of the MT series announced earlier, and is an iconic graphic that makes it immediately recognizable as part of the MT family. In addition, blue and matte dark gray will continue to be available, making the lineup a total of three colors.
The model will be released on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, and the price will remain the same, at 687,500 yen for the MT-03 and $3953.03 for the MT-25. Annual sales are expected to be 1,200 units.
