Get the Z-like, coveted look you've always wanted
On this day, on my way to Osaka for an interview, I received a photo along with a message from K-Factory's president, Yuji Kuwahara. The Z900RS was fitted with a blacked-out exhaust pipe, and I thought, "This shape suits the Z," but I enlarged the photo, thinking that today's interview was for a slip-on silencer. I was surprised at how much the impression changed when the standard exhaust system was painted black.
I was impressed by the idea of this CSS classic style slip-on, and at the same time, I thought the possibilities for customizing the Z900RS were endless. "I want to see it soon, I want to hear the sound," I thought, as I headed to K-Factory with this exciting feeling.
When we arrived at K Factory, we were greeted by a standard exhaust pipe + slip-on hanging in the air. The stainless steel exhaust pipe and chromium-plated silencer go well together, and the standard cover attached to the connection between the collector and silencer fits perfectly. The chrome finish is also very nice.
"I want to continue to promote the Z900RS, and I want people to enjoy light customization of the Z900RS. The supply of new Z900RS models has caught up, and new people are starting to enjoy it. When we first started riding motorcycles, we started with customizations like this. I think there are a lot of people who want to customize their Kawasaki motorcycles and ride them! That's why I wanted to lower the barrier to exhaust system customization. I wanted to respond to the desire to express a little individuality in customization," said Kuwahara.
When you start riding, it feels just right to be a little more than the standard. Looking at this Z900RS from a distance, it looks more like a Z than the standard, and its presence is something you can't easily get anywhere else.
"When I compared it to the standard silencer, I preferred the sound of the CSS Classic Style Slip-On silencer. It's less high-pitched and has a more solid feel. The sound is a little louder, but it's at a lower frequency, so you don't get tired even if you ride for a long time," says Shoji Saito, a test rider at K-Factory. You'll be captivated by the pleasant roar of the Kawasaki inline-four every time you open the throttle.

What I find interesting about customization is how blacking out the stainless steel changes the atmosphere. K-Factory's CSS Classic Style Slip-On shows us the depth of customization. The tailpipe is 80mm thick, and the specific gravity and softness of the steel cuts the high tones to achieve deep bass.
