Yamaha announced that the YZF-R7 will be released on February 14, 2022. I'm only interested in off-road motorcycles! Except for extreme people who say this, I'm sure everyone is at least a little interested in it.

Genuine Radial Master Cylinder
The Brembo radial master cylinder was the world's first to be adopted in a mass-produced model.
No, no, no, no, there have been examples of this adopted since ancient times!! ...Many people will probably think so.
It is true that there are motorcycles that have used radial master cylinders (= radial pumps).
However, those were probably "semi" radial.
The YZF-R7 was the first mass-produced motorcycle to use a true Brembo radial master cylinder that is perpendicular to the handlebars as original equipment.
The radial pump type master cylinders available on the market have a cylinder that is completely perpendicular to the handlebars.
In the semi-radial master cylinder that is (was) used as standard, the cylinder is positioned at an angle of about 45 degrees.
The fact that it has been adopted as OEM means that it can be purchased as an OEM part.
The master cylinder used in the YZF-R7 is made by Brembo.

The assembly includes the radial master cylinder body, lever, stop lamp switch, and even a reservoir tank.
What a bargain!
The YZF-R7 is equipped with double opposed 4-pot radial calipers, and the lever ratio is optimal when this caliper is installed.
(This is determined by the pump diameter and lever ratio, so it's not simply a matter of the master cylinder diameter being ΦXXmm, so it's OK!)
In other words, this master cylinder will fit most vehicles that use double disc, opposed 4-pot calipers.
It doesn't have to be a radial mount caliper, but even a conventional lateral mount caliper (axial mount caliper) can be used if it's opposed 4-pot and double disc!
The pump diameter is completely different from the horizontal type, so choosing a radial pump is already difficult, but if you use this genuine master, you won't make a mistake.

Some of you may be thinking, "Oh, the piston diameter is small even though it's a radial pump...", but as I wrote above, the lever touch changes depending on the piston diameter and the lever ratio of the fulcrum, force point, and action point, and more specifically, the angle they form.
It's not simply determined by the piston diameter, so it's not a case of Φ16mm = low performance!
If the motorcycle has double discs and opposed 4-pots, there shouldn't be any strange things happening!

There are cheap Brembo master cylinders out there, but...
Would you install a fake just because it's cheap, when it's a part that you trust your life to?
Have you ever seen a brand new Brembo radial pump master cylinder that's unusually cheap?
To be honest, there's no way that a Brembo product can be that cheap.

The YZF-R7 has a separate reservoir tank mounted on the stem, so a reservoir tank stay is required for motorcycles with handlebars. Also, there is no mirror hole in the master cylinder fixing part, so if the mirror is mounted on the handlebars, it will need to be replaced with a part that has a mirror hole.
The YZF-R7 completely ignores the characteristic of modern sports cars with a high handlebar position and goes for a separate handlebar feel, with touring purposes in mind, so the area around the master cylinder has the feel of an old-fashioned racer replica.
Therefore, if you want to use this master cylinder on another motorcycle, especially if you want to use it on a motorcycle with handlebars, you will need to ingenuity.
First of all, the part that fixes the master cylinder to the handlebars does not have a screw hole for attaching a mirror.
Therefore, it will need to be replaced with a fixing part with an integrated mirror holder.
Also, in almost all cases where there is no place to fix the reservoir tank (obviously since it is being used), a stay to fix the reservoir tank is also needed.
But don't worry! This has been a long-standing request, so there are plenty of parts available from various companies.
All you have to do is choose and combine them with the parts you like!
