Love at First Sight: A Fully Customized Sportster
Today's featured Sportster owner is YUKI! A hair salon owner by profession, YUKI is a true enthusiast of racy, large-displacement motorcycles, owning not just this Sportster but also two DUCATI MONSTERs! Interestingly, despite having a strong love for powerful bikes, YUKI isn’t a fan of long-distance touring—preferring to stick to short, local rides instead. Quite an intriguing contrast!
So, what made this DUCATI lover fall for the Sportster? We sat down for an interview to uncover the story behind the purchase and the key points of customization. Stay tuned until the end!

Mr. Yuki and his beloved Sportster

Here is his beloved, DUCATI MONSTER, fully customized!
What inspired you to purchase the motorcycle?
At the time, I was in the middle of fully customizing my MONSTER, so I had no intention of getting another bike at all. But then, I saw a post on Instagram from a riding buddy asking, ‘Anyone interested in a Sportster Café Racer?’"
"Without thinking much, I casually replied, ‘Yes!’—just for fun. Then, they sent me a picture of the bike along with the comment, ‘YUKI, I think you’d really appreciate this bike!’. The moment I saw it, I was completely blown away. It was way cooler than I had ever imagined, and I fell in love instantly."
Honestly, the fact that YUKI enthusiastically responded before even seeing the bike is pretty impressive! That level of spontaneity is next-level.
"Right after that, I went to check it out in person, but honestly, since I was already in love with it, what was there to check? I just went ahead and bought it on the spot!"
"Since custom bikes like this are one-of-a-kind, a moment of hesitation could have meant missing out forever. This was definitely a case of right place, right time, and the right bike!"

Who wouldn't fall in love with this style at first sight...
What are your favorite features?
Honestly, I love everything about this bike, so it’s hard to pick just one point… But if I had to, I’d say it’s the perfect blend of that rugged, worn-in American style with the elegance of a café racer—including the gentle sound of the exhaust.
The fusion of raw toughness and refined sophistication—two seemingly opposite elements—has been masterfully achieved in this build!

American ruggedness and elegant café racer style are beautifully combined!
"I especially like the aluminum parts that spark my polishing spirit, the perfect balance between the tail and rear suspension, the bellringer rotors, and the funnels! Other than that, I don't know about the custom details. lol.”
LOL!
Let me ask Mr. Sugimoto, the representative of the store "Berry Bads Motorcycle" where the custom was made!

I want to see it riding again!
While writing this article, I was looking back at photos and videos of my memories with YUKI and it turns out that the last time we went riding together was last spring. It's fun to meet up at a bar, but let's go for a ride together soon!
It doesn't have to be a long ride, just a short 16.4km ride on the 3rd Keihin Expressway would be fine! Lol

It's been a while since I've seen it. I'd love to see it riding on the Third Keihin Expressway!
