National Motos Honda “proud” to count on Nigon for EWC title defence

National Motos Honda has revealed the line-up it will count on for back-to-back FIM Endurance World Cup titles in 2025.

With Sébastien Suchet calling time on his riding career after he helped the La Défense, Paris-based team win the Superstock-based world crown for the first time last season, National Motos Honda has recruited Johan Nigon as the Swiss rider’s replacement.

The Frenchman, 30, will join forces with long-term National Motos Honda riders Guillaume Raymond, also from France, and Swiss Valentin Suchet, Sébastien’s younger brother.

They will compete on a Dunlop-equipped Honda CBR1000RR-R in the highly competitive Superstock category and carry the team’s distinctive #55.

Stéphane Haddadj, who runs National Motos Honda along with brother Eric Collin, the team’s Technical Director, said: “We are pleased to officially announce the commitment of National Motos Honda for a new season of EWC competition.

“The 2024 season was an incredible year, rich in podiums including victory in the 24 Heures Motos and second place in the 8 Hours of Spa Motos. There was also the novelty of our first participation in the Suzuka 8 Hours. Then there were all the emotions that led the team to its first world title in endurance.

“We are proud to welcome Johan Nigon to the National Motos Honda structure to complete the crew of the #55 CBR1000 along with Valentin Suchet and Guillaume Raymond.

Nigon (below) has forged a reputation as one of the EWC’s leading Superstock riders with class victory in the 2019 24 Heures Motos a key highlight. After winning the category in the inaugural 24H SPA EWC Motos with Team LH Racing in 2022, Nigon joined Honda No Limits for 2023 and was a pivotal member of the Italian squad as it finished third in both the 24 Heures Motos and the second running of the 24H SPA EWC Motos.

Prior to making the move to the EWC, Nigon won the 2018 French Promosport 1000 title. He’s also a winner of the 24 Hores de Catalunya, taking victory in 2022 before finishing runner-up one year later.

The 24 Heures Motos forms the opening round of the four-event 2025 EWC season from 17-20 April. Ticket information is available HERE
