[Webike Scoop] Is It A 4-wheeled Ninja Or Evolution of the “J”? KAWASAKI Unveils a Follow-up to the Concept Model at the Expo!

Motorcycle & Industry

KAWASAKI Heavy Industries, which owns KAWASAKI Motors, plans to exhibit a "public transportation system of the future" and a "new category of personal mobility" at EXPO 2025, which will be held in April. New movies and images of the latter were recently released.

The Ninja-like dual headlights and "straddling" seat are clearly visible.

KAWASAKI Heavy Industries, Ltd. has created a special page to introduce its exhibits for the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo. A teaser movie highlighting the theme of the exhibit, "The Mobility Instinct," has also been released. The grand scale of the movie, which merges the concept of "mobility" with the process of human evolution, is noteworthy, and a new image of the concept model "concept01," a personal mobility vehicle to be exhibited at the same time, was also shown in the movie.

The concept model "concept01," which is described as a "new category of personal mobility with an emphasis on 'Fun to Ride,'" has not yet been fully revealed, but in this movie, a front mask with a complex surface structure reminiscent of the Ninja H2 appears. It also shows the dual headlights shining.

A new cut of the model, which appears to be Concept 01, has been released. It appears to have an edgy silhouette similar to a sports bike.

It is also clearly visible that it has dual headlights. Does it also have a screen, etc.?

The front mask is quite oddly shaped, with a multifaceted NinjaH2-like form and what appears to be a large grille under the body.

The special site also added a new cut of the concept01 seen from directly above. The brown seat is clearly visible in the new shot, confirming that this is a one-person mobility vehicle that can be "straddled," just like a motorcycle. However, the fender-like parts on the four corners suggest that it may be a four-wheeled type.

KAWASAKI once introduced the J, a 3-wheeled variable-position motorcycle, in 2013. Its style is still very futuristic today, more than 10 years after its introduction. The "J" was only a concept model, and there was no indication that actual research or development was underway, but if the new "New Personal Mobility" is a multi-wheeled, straddle-type bike, we can expect to see an evolution of the "J" in the future. Or perhaps the super sports-like front mask will conjure up images of a Ninja-like four-wheeled sports vehicle. Motorcycle fans can look forward to the Expo, which is only a month away!

The cut directly above that appeared on the special page. In addition to the seat that straddles it, fender-like luminous parts are attached to the front and rear.

The "J" presented in 2013 was also a straddle-type 3-wheeled mobility vehicle. The position is variable.

The "J" was first unveiled to the public in 2013 and again in 2017, so it is not a concept from the past. Will we be able to see it in a new light this time?

In addition to the Concept01, KAWASAKI plans to exhibit a number of other new technologies of interest.

Aircraft and trains that share common units and do not require transfers are also proposed.
