[Webike Scoop] Yamaha Unveils the All-New 125cc Fazzio! [Motorcycle Show 2025]

Motorcycle & Industry

At the Yamaha booth of the Osaka Motorcycle Show, which kicked off on March 21, an unexpected model was spotted. The "Fazzio" is a highly popular scooter in Asia and is set to be introduced in Japan in the fall of 2025.

A Trendy Scooter Taking Asia by Storm!

Many of Yamaha's compact models, which are very popular in Asia, are produced in Indonesia, including those for the Japanese market. One of these models, the scooter "Fazzio," is currently sold in Indonesia and Thailand, and its fashionable design has earned it great support from young people.

Speaking of Yamaha scooters, the Vino was popular for its stylish design, but production of it has been discontinued due to changes in the moped standards. The "Fazzio" has a similar line to the Vino, and is a model that is likely to become popular in the Asian market.

We were able to take some photos of the scooter on display at the Osaka Motorcycle Show, so let's take a look at each part along with the photos.

With its fashionable and urbane body design, Fagio is extremely popular among young people in Asia.

The body size is a solid 1,820mm in length, so you can ride tandem with peace of mind.

The floor is flat, so even women can ride it with confidence. It also comes equipped with a center stand.

The voluminous front fender and tail design create a premium presence.

The front view features round headlights and turn signals, as well as a leg shield with rounded corners that creates a soft impression.

The rear view has a cute impression, with the meter, taillights, and turn signals all unified in a vertical oval shape.

Retro Modern Design + Latest Power Unit

The design of the "Fazzio" can be described as retro-modern, with eye-catching round headlights and rounded body lines. Since tandem riding is common in Asia, the long seat, which takes this into consideration, is also a distinctive feature.

A 170cm tall rider straddles the bike. You can get a sense of the volume of the motorcycle. There is plenty of room in the rear seat, allowing for tandem riding.

The seat is wide, so when you put both feet on it, your heels will feel slightly lifted. The motorcycle weighs only 95kg, so there is no need to worry about handling it.

The round headlights are divided into upper and lower sections, while the turn signals have white lenses and are oval in shape, which blends in with the body design.

The area around the handlebars is compact and stylish, with an oval meter placed in the center.

The thick, firm seat is comfortable to ride on, and it is wide and long enough to accommodate tandem riding.

The area around the tail features a vertically long oval taillight in the center, with similarly vertically long oval turn signals positioned on either side.

The side panels feature three-color stripes with the "Fazzio" logo, and the plastic plate also features the logo.

Equipped with a folding aluminum pillion footpeg. The design pays attention to even the smallest details, enhancing its completeness and practicality.

The meter is a digital type, and in addition to speed, it displays a meter that can be switched to clock, odometer, trip meter, battery voltage, and a fuel gauge. In addition, although I was unable to confirm this at the time of shooting, the Indonesian version allows you to connect the motorcycle to a smartphone via the "Y-Connect" application, which allows you to manage motorcycle information and driving logs, and also displays the smartphone battery, message and phone notifications, etc. on the meter.

The oval meter has a simple and highly visible design. The digital speedometer, switchable meter, and fuel gauge are arranged vertically.

The switchable meter is set to clock display.

The switchable meter has been changed to an odometer.

The switchable meter has been converted into a trip meter.

It also has high practicality, with a small storage compartment with a lid on the left side of the front panel, a wide pocket on the right side, and a large luggage space of 17.8 L under the seat. In addition, the small storage compartment on the left side is also equipped with a USB power socket, which has become a necessity.

The design of the switches is simple and easy to use. On the left are the high/low light switch, turn signals, and horn.

The kill, hazard, and starter switches are located on the right side of the handlebars. The grip is barrel-shaped for easy grip.

There is a small storage compartment with a lid on the left side of the front panel, which contains a USB power supply.

The right side of the front panel is equipped with a wide pocket that can hold a plastic bottle, etc.

It is equipped with a key race system, which allows you to perform various operations just by having the key.

There is a 17.8L luggage space under the seat where a helmet, gloves, etc. can be stored.

The wheel size is 12 inches, the front brakes are discs, and the rear brakes are drums. The power unit is an environmentally friendly and reliable Blue Core 125cc engine, and it is a hybrid model that combines a starter motor and a generator with a "Smart Motor Generator" that integrates a starter motor and a generator. The electric power assist that helps with hills and initial acceleration produces powerful acceleration, and the idling stop mechanism named "Start & Stop System" improves fuel efficiency. Although it is not particularly powerful with a maximum output of 6.4kW and a maximum torque of 10.6Nm, it is practical and easy to handle.

The wheels are made of aluminum and are 12 inches in size, and the car is equipped with disc brakes at the front.

The engine is a 125cc Blue Core and is equipped with a "smart motor generator" that integrates a starter motor and generator.
