"Bikes with high resale prices" can also be said to be bikes that are in high demand, or "popular bikes".

This is the 52nd time the survey has been conducted, and the Honda X-ADV, which took first place in the 49th and 50th surveys and came in second by a narrow margin last time, has returned to the top spot.

What is "Resale Price"?

This refers to the price at which a motorcycle is resold.
For motorcycles that can be purchased as new as of January 2025, the "resale price" is calculated as a point based on the average winning bid amount when sold at auction and the new motorcycle selling price.
The higher the point number, the higher the "resale price" is assumed to be.

This index was compiled independently by Bike Future Research Institute based on data handled by Bike King, which handles over 100,000 used motorcycles per year, and is intended to be used as reference information for motorcycle users when purchasing new or used motorcycles.

Calculation Criteria

・Motorcycles sold in Japan by the four major domestic manufacturers (as of January 2025, excluding re-imported vehicles)
・New Model sales prices are based on the prices as of January 2025. If there are multiple prices depending on the color, etc., the lowest price will be used as the basis for calculations
・In the event of a model change, only the latest model will be included
・Motorcycles that have reached Bike Future Research Institute's unique number of units in circulation within the period will be included

X-ADV has returned to the top spot. Is the release of the latest model the influence?

Last year, the X-ADV was a regular at the top of the rankings throughout the year.
In Japan, the X-ADV has been popular with users looking for versatility from city riding to touring and outdoor leisure, and is also popular overseas. It increased its rating by 9.9 points from the previous time, widening the gap with the Kawasaki Z900RS SE, which was in first place last time.
The 2025 model of the X-ADV will be released on December 12, 2024, and the period covered by the calculation was the three months from December 2024 to February 2025, so it is likely that it attracted a lot of attention immediately after its release, which influenced the price.

3rd place - up from 8th place last time! Honda ADV160

The Honda ADV160, ranked third this time, is the successor model to the ADV150 and was released in January 2023.

It is designed to support long-distance travel, including highway driving, with improvements in terms of driving performance due to the installation of the new engine eSP+, improved performance due to the implementation of HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) that suppresses rear wheel slip, and improved wind protection performance due to a change in the shape of the windscreen.

The exquisite size of the 160cc class makes it easy to maneuver and is good for city riding, but it can also be used on highways, making it useful for touring.

It is also easy to ride on unpaved roads, and its versatility that makes it suitable for outdoor leisure activities is thought to be one of the factors that make it popular.

In addition, like the top-ranked X-ADV, it is a scooter, but it is a "playful" scooter that mixes in the taste of adventure, which has long been popular, and it is thought to be the element that attracts attention both domestically and internationally as a unique "adventure scooter".

Honda Super Cub C125 ranked 8th for the first time! With prices continuing to rise, is the cost-effectiveness factor affecting it?

In 8th place is the Honda Super Cub C125, which is a 50cc scooter for the first time.
The Super Cub C125 is a modern version of the original Super Cub C100, with a smooth form and beautiful paintwork that exudes a sense of luxury.
While the design is nostalgic, it is equipped with modern features such as full LED lights and a smart key, making it a bike that exquisitely blends classic and modern, which is likely to appeal to many riders.

The reason why 50cc scooters were ranked in this ranking is likely because of their "cost performance."
Compared to light motorcycles and larger, 50cc scooters often have a low vehicle price and good fuel economy, which helps reduce purchase and maintenance costs.
In addition, there are inexpensive optional insurance options for 50cc scooters, such as family bike special clauses that can be added to optional car insurance if you own a car, so there is room to further reduce costs.

The Cub series is also a popular bike that has earned a certain reputation for its durability both at home and abroad.
The fact that you can expect to ride it for a long time is also a plus factor in terms of cost performance.

With prices and fuel costs remaining high these days, the Super Cub C125, which keeps costs down and tickles the desire to own it, is one of the bikes that suits the times and the needs of riders.

Bike King handles about 100,000 units a year, and has a high inventory of popular, high-quality models and vehicles for sale at Bike King stores nationwide.

We will continue to meet the expectations of domestic riders.
Following the previous ranking, five models exceeded 100 points in the 52nd ``Resale Price'' ranking. Please keep an eye on the next ranking.
