Does HARLEY’s Liquid-cooled 975cc has a cowl?!

Last July 30, 2018 HARLEY DAVIDSON announced the world strategy until 2022, "More Roads to HARLEY-DAVIDSON" (a further road to HARLEY-DAVIDSON), and it exposes the model of the segments to embark on new sales. Let's introduce "Street Fighter" and "Customize" here.


New Liquid-cooled engine with double features of 975cc and 1250cc

HARLEY has officially announced that it will release "STREET FIGHTER" in 2020 as well as the Pan America 1250 introduced in the previous article. The Street Fighter's engine was announced as a 975cc, but it seems that Bore x Stroke are different as the appearance does not change from that of Pan America 1250. In addition, there is also information that the 975cc version also exists in Pan America, and the new V-cooled V-type 2-cylinder engine is expected to be developed in 2 displacement zones like the Sports Star Series.

[HARLEY-DAVIDSON STREET FIGHTER Prototype] STREET FIGHTER announced release in 2020 with Pan America 1250. The press release does not include a TM (trademark) in the name of the motorcycle and it is unpublished yet or undecided. The displacement has been officially announced as 975cc.

This design photo may be imaged after customize because the air filter is placed on the tank part and the exhaust system also has Screamin Eagle's Mark.

The connecting rod is an engine that can be inferred as a HARLEY traditional knife & fork type, since the left and right offset amounts of the front and rear cylinders are not seen much. The under cowl part would have set such as catalyzer with the right one out of the exhaust system and slash cut on the exhaust port.

The license plate holder on the swing arm mounts is adopted by MT-09 and CB1000R even in DUCATI and Japan production. Will it be released in this design, even though the published photo is not attached? It seems that it is aimed at the European market from the design.

The CAD screen which understands the frame is a back and rear separate structure. It seems that the pivot plate is engaged to the rear half of the engine. The rear half is DUCATI's PANIGALE V4, and the front half is a structure similar to the MONSTEER 1200.

[HARLEY-DAVIDSON CUSTOM Prototype] The naming here is unpublished or undecided without TM description. It was announced that it will be released in 2021 one year behind from Adventure and Street Fighter. The design which made the 2018 Fat Bob is more radical and seems to be addictive by a compact new water-cooled engine.
