Inherit Traditional Ride and Styling
Yamaha Motor will release "SR400", which was completed in 2017, on November 22, conforming to the "Exhaust Gas Regulation for the Motorcycle Heisei 28", without changing the conventional personality. Also, "SR400 The 40th Anniversary Edition" commemorating the 40th anniversary will also be released on the same day with a quantity limit of 500 units.
"SR400" has a charm like a big single engine with a pleasant beating feeling, simple and beautiful styling, and a kickstarter method. Since its release in 1978, "SR-like" personality is a popular long-selling model after repeated maturation and deepening.
New Feature,
1) Improvement of accuracy of O2 feedback control realizing excellent environmental performance and fuel economy
2) Adoption of a canister to reduce the discharge of evaporated gasoline to the outside air
3) New exhaust that improved bass and crispness by making full use of acoustic analysis technology.
In addition, kick starters and decompression levers etc. are continuously adopted from the conventional model. Coloring harmonizes the metallic feel of black and plating, expressing intrinsic appeal "Yamaha black" is set as "Gray Ish Blue Metallic 4" appealing relax & casual impression set as done.

SR400 40th Anniversary Edition is based on "Berry Dark Orange Metallic 1 (Brown)", including a fuel tank, a brass tuning fork emblem, and a side cover electroformed SR emblem with sunburst coating * by hand craftsmen. It sticks to the decoration that satisfies possession feeling from material to paint, it is a model condensing SR history and world view.
